Well, I tried it, and it does work. My 66 389 4v pinged like crazy with it's high compression. Tried 93 octane, even Sunoco 94, still pinged running at factory 6' BTDC.

Well, I tried it, and it does work. My 66 389 4v pinged like crazy with it's high compression. Tried 93 octane, even Sunoco 94, still pinged running at factory 6' BTDC.

Anybody out there try TOLUENE to boost octane? I buy it for $10.50 a gallon at a paint store and add it to SUNOCO 94 octane. My 66 389-4V bored .30 over pings like popcorn (on load) timed at 6' BTC....
