It’s funny watching grown men argue over something neither own lol!! We would need valid results from prior runs with car and weather compared to the new setup with same conditions etc. so many variables when not done on the same day or even same track if it wasn’t?

What I am trying to say was something was not right with his KRE headed
combo.
Take a look at this pump gas stroker who won their class in 2016. Notice the cam, a little 261-269 deal.
Made enough HP to get Mikes car down to 6.36 at 107 MPH for 3750 lbs.
His 505 should have been able to make more power than that.
Biggest problem I can see is that cam.

… well what ever you may believe is wrong with the HP combo, the CV-1’s are now dealing with that also, Mike’s car is footbrake car that’s not light and a head change doesn’t fix a poor cam choice …
… and a wrong cam choice shouldn’t make the car faster, that doesn’t make sense …
… also worth noting is the launch and shift RPM is the same …
… I’m sure Mike is looking forward to figuring out what the new heads will like as far as any tuning changes 👍🏻…

I had my best 60' ever foot braking. Cheap 10" converter of all things, but I trashed it. Took off at 2200 and flashed it. Most of my hardware was won foot braking. Took me a year to get used to the T brake.
Just help Mike get his 60' foots down. Gotta have it. No self respecting 505 with a 8" converter and 4.10s should have a 1.44.

Depends on what the converter flashes/stalls to. My 9" converter flashes to about 4500. That's gonna fall short of my peak tq numbers by about 600 rpm. Mike could have the same issue. But it would most likely been the same with the HP heads.

You can make all of the engine, and convertor changes you want. But in the end it still comes down to what is the max forward thrust the suspension and tires will let you use. If you are data logging look at G's.

Jack,
Were you able to get out and race any this year? If so how did you do?

It seems ever date on the Warriors schedule this past year I had something else I had to do.

If you’re not active here for a while I think you might have difficulty accessing your account, I’m not sure why.

Send a PM to eric_cspan the forums admin and he’ll get you back on using your previous account.

Yes, we did pretty well going to the finals in one race and lost on a close race.
We ran some mid 4.50s in the eighth.

Broke the converter at one race and had an automatic shifter issue at the last race.

It’s out for a check over at this time. Definitely needs rings but head gaskets looked great.

Jack,
Sounds like you had a pretty good year. Are you just going to freshen the engine or do you plan on any upgrades?

We went fuel injection last year. That was expensive enough.

Just new rings and bearings.
