I just bought and received a new gas tank 20 gallon proper dimensions ( there are cheaper 17 gallon tanks that are not correct)

my sending unit is new also it has 2 lines on for the supply and one for the return

my car is a non California car and has a supply on the drivers side / and a return on the passenger side hard lines going to fuel pump

the new tank has one vent on the filler neck and that attaches to the back of the trunk area vent no problem

My question is when the tank is hung in place, on the bottom back passenger side, there is a fitting for a fuel hose, I am not Shure what this is for on the old tank it was just plugged as the new tank but is there a place that should connect to?
