you can if it to death with what if's but the bottom line is you cant break the law in order to enforce or protect.
I will! In order to protect my family on my property! Ya damn right I will.

i agree but if you were genuinely protecting your family you wouldnt be breaking the law in the first place.
but another feels he is within his rights to shoot in the air IN the city when the intruder is running AWAY.
of course that bullet has to fall somewhere,,what if it fell and struck and injured his family member
would he THEN want the man that fired the shot held accountable?
that was my opinion on this

and then it was said the man should have shot and killed the intruder as he ran away because he MAY hurt someone in the future??
these are the gun holders that scare me and why we have so many problems as gun owners that we have today
yes WE

You seem to have a comprehension issue. I asked if it would have been better if he shot and killed him. At least I'm not dumb enough to think that someone breaking into a couple houses will never do another crime again and should have just been able to get away because he was already running

he was running [key word] AWAY,no need for a WARNING shot

BUT he was caught, because of this guy. Keyword caught. 1 scumbag off the street.

he isnt the police,he has no authority to attempt to apprehend him

Uh huh, citizens arrest doesn't mean anything? And how often are cops there to stop crimes? Not very often. They usually investigate crimes.

it certainly needs to be repeated
he isnt the police and you cant assume ''what if''

the kid hadnt committed another crime YET[KEY WORD] YET

And obviously you don't know people like this. I do. If they break into a house like this, if it's their first time, it won't be their last. Chances are it wasn't his first or last.

i said[once again] they were following the law,,you said they were, duhh

So we both said they were following the law?

now bye

Feel free to leave, I'm not stopping you.

and look both ways before crossing the street or ask a policeman for assisstance:rolleyes

Don't look, just cross

i need to apologize as its obvious ive discussed much too many points for you to understand so let me simmmply say this
YOU CANT BREAK THE LAW WHILE TRYING TO ENFORCE IT
all of my posts
every one
from the first up to this one
all,,,every
have only had one simple point to make
no if
no maybes
no shoulds
no can
no cannot
no what if's
nothing except what is legal in this scenario
the home owner broke the law by firing in the air
and you cant shoot someone thats running away
nothing else applys on these 2 points
now please focus and concentrate on what i DIDsay and not what you figured i may have said

to shoot someone in the back
to kill someone you think may hurt someone in the future
and thats a scary thought coming from someone that handles a firearm
scary

You do realize if you shoot directly up in the air, it will NOT come down with the same velocity as you shot it with? And I wouldn't shoot him in the back, again you have a comprehension problem. I never said he should be shot, I asked you if you thought it would have been better IF he had. Show me where I said he should be shot while he was running. Also, you don't know me. So no, you don't know what I think. Also, if you can't figure out the difference between your comments and mine, it's easy. Mine are the ones with capital letters and punctuation marks in them. Although you not understanding punctuation makes me realize why you think I said he should be shot. See this ---> ? That is a question mark. It's used when someone is...asking a question. Learn to use punctuation. And learn some comprehension.

It's good to know if I decide to rob a bank or rape a bunch of nuns in a convent,
as long as I can get out the door and be running away, Ill be protected by the law so no one has the legal right to shoot at me or even into the air.
Everyone is entitled to a fair chance to get away, right nytwyt?

You do have issues. It's not nerdfonics, it's called typing in English, and no it was created way before I was born. Capital letters at the beginning, punctuation at the end. They teach you that in 1st grade Learn English. And again, comprehension. Still waiting for you to show me where I said shoot him in the back.

No brainiac, but you can clearly tell the difference between when I post and you do. You post like a 14 year old girl sending a text, I post like an adult who knows what a . ? ! and , are, and know ,,, isn't "..." And sure, I can. In fat, here's 3 "quotes"
