John62, I want to say NO. I have never heard anyone discuss the sierra and Madrid for the seat material. Just the dash pad. Maybe the 65 guys will jump in. "Bill"!

Yes 64 and 65 seat materials were different. 64 was a year to it's own.

Kevin, Ron. Look at post 5 in the thread above. That is a great look at whay the underside of your hood should look like. Your picture looks like your hood is to nice. Or it may just be the picture. "Bill"! THANKS dld!! |

Thanks Bill-
I have been debating the overspray under the hood. We did put it over the rest of the car. Just Dashes completed the dash pad and it looks awesome. I believe they are the only provider of the correct 64 material. Not sure this will ever be a concourse car,.

I don't know how to link you to a previous posting, but if you go to Post No. 29 "1964 GTO Hood Pad", dated 5-23-12, there is another photo of overspray along the hood's edges. |

Is there somewhere in this forum that will instruct me how to link? I think I looked for instructions years ago when I first got involved. Either I did not find anything, or did not understand the directions I did find. Thanks again. |

Jake, might be other ways.
But here is what I do. Open the page you want to link. Put your mouse cursor in the address bar for that page. Right click the mouse. Left click "COPY" in the drop down menu. Then go to the Reply box where you want the link to appear. Right click in the Reply box. Left click on "PASTE" from the drop down menu. And the address of the page you want to link is now in your reply. Basically a simple "cut and paste" of the web page address. |

Many thanks. I tried it tonight, it worked, with no problems. Bill, Thanks for the PM and your offer of help. The method John suggested worked fine when I tried it tonight. If your method is simpler and more efficient, you might want to post in a thread so that all may use. Not being too savvy with computers, I thought it a major victory for me in successfully utilizing John's method on my first attempt. Thanks again. |

Yes...
there IS the distinct possibility that this car may get "over-restored"! Seriously...as much as folks follow the examples from original cars...none of the cars in the Concourse Class at the GTOAA are representative of how any new car looked on the showroom floor. Paint and panel gaps alone would disqualify most every car...but I get it. Corvette guys are the only ones I know that leave the imperfections...primer where the paint guys missed the bottom of a fender....bad body seams...etc. Try to find a Judge with a mis-aligned Endura at a GTOAA show. Just saying. I still appreciate the efforts...but where to draw the line will always be a bone of contention.

Few updates
Thanks to the help of Pete from Precision Pontiac, my gauges and dash are installed. Next step will be to install the tachometer and radio when they are complete. Order the glass on on Monday!

I've seen this car in person and it's going to be a killer! Can't wait to see more progress and see it finished. It will be 100%!
