That's great. I'm excited for you. Seems like a really nice car that's checks all the boxes for you. I hope it all goes smoothly and you're burning rubber soon.
Ironically, it was almost exactly 3 years ago that I did the same thing. My car was hauled coast-to-coast in the February blizzard we had. I was very nervous. I know the haulers have insurance but I made sure I had my own insurance on the car before they picked it up. Don't know how that would have played out if there was a loss but that's what I did.

This is great...hopefully goes smooth with the shipping and worked out good for the buyer/seller.

I like 74-75 better than 76-78 or 80-81.
The 75 4spd is a solid buy in a good price range that should stay solid. Does it still have the factory cat vertor exhaust , or a performance exhaust ? |

Cat was missing when I bought the car. I installed Ram Air manifolds and dualled it off with a transverse muffler.

Can't ask for anything better than that . 100%
Stock system was so horrible from 75-81 . No problem in NC , anything after 30 years old doesn't even get a yearly state inspection. |

That’s a fine automobile right there.
Just drive it and keep it clean and maintained, what more could you ask for. Shopping for cars and shipping them from California is always worth it. It’s already painted ‘Resale Red’ for when it’s time to move it on, such a deal.

I wouldn't change a thing that I see. I've grown to really like the single headlight shovel nose years and that one looks great. Congrats!

I would buy a CLEAN 1964 Tempest Wagon.
Missed out on one a few years ago. Tom Vaught

Hot damn! Just got home with the 75 TA. Met the transporter behind a grocery store about 6 miles from my house. Of course it's raining here today and I haven't driven a stick in 20+ years, but all went well. Car is safe and sound in my garage. Just as the seller told me, the car runs excellent.
The car I miss most from my youth was my 72 Camaro 3 speed. Since I'm a Pontiac guy now I thought this TA fully encompassed what I was trying to recapture and it is. Zero regrets. As far as purchasing a car at such a distance (CA to NC), I would do it again in a second. I would recommend anyone doing the same to do it right no corner cutting. What I did: Purchased the PHS overnight way before deal was done. It checked out per what seller had told me. Hired a local to the car pre inspection/appraisal from certified appraiser. I got 100+ high quality pics from ever angle to include underneath. Paint meter reading on all sheet metal. Appraiser actually rode in the car with the seller. Have video. For me having a really responsive seller was a plus. Anyway thanks again for all the help and comments from members. I started this thread with the purpose of finding and buying a nice car. As they say "you gotta love it when a plan comes together". |
