Well, my Sickweek ended early. I broke a rocker arm halfway to Orlando. I'll post pics later.

Very nice Green 67, but it's LS powered. I didn't stay at home home to take it apart to check the lifters or cam. I'll pull the intake to check that stuff next week. The heads will accept Big block Chevy rockers but mine are a shaft set up. So Harland Sharp would have to make the replacement. If I go back to HS rockers. I am looking at Jessel's.

Just looking at it quickly (road side diagnosis) the adjuster nut looks to have backed off, pushrod popped out of the cup and stopped oiling the rocker. It overheated and froze up on the shaft. I'll have to tear into it to check further.

That sucks, sorry to hear/see this. At least it's an easy fix if nothing else is damaged.

I took the intake and valley cover off today, the lifters and cam look good, but there were 2 other exhaust rockers that are damaged. Looking at replacing the current shaft rockers with either Jessel Pro Steel or T&D Steel shaft rockers. I spoke with T&D today, 22 weeks out for their Steel Shaft rockers to be made.

Harland Sharp. They came with the top end when I bought it from the original owner, but I had to send some back for a rebuild when I got them, only had Dyno time on the rockers at that point. They are just not up to the task.

How much did T& D quote you for the steel shafts ? For Pontiac shafts they told me 20 weeks and 3000$ 1900$ for aluminum. I was kinda taken aback on the 3000$ price.
So I went with Crower SS shafts, 1540 $ through Jegs. I see you can get Jessel or Crower stell shaft rockers for BBCs for 1700-1900 $ |

I'm curious, are your lifter bores or pushrods restricted? I've never ran any kind of restriction and have had very good luck with the top end with the exception of breaking 2 valve springs on Drag Week 2021.

I have never used and restrictors in the oil passage or restricted pushrods. This is the 2nd time the needle bearings @ the trunion needed to be addressed. When I got them there were 6 rockers that needed to be rebuilt, they only had Dyno time on them then.

My E-Heads are Butler 330-340 cfm heads, the are only 66cc chamber so they will raise the compression about 3/4 of a point. To 12.5 to 1. Depending on valve clearance, I hope to use 1.65 rockers, but have 1.5 if clearances don't allow the extra lift.

For which exact BBC head. When I look there are many styles of them. Will a shaft rocker for a factory rectangular port work or a specific type of aftermarket head ? |
