What I mean is if your suspension is tuned for the street , then I would think that taking that car with that tune in it , you would be able to get it down a prepped track with that tune even if you did turn the wick up. I was surprised last night when the fireball Camaro just with changing brands of slicks got down the track when another brand couldn't get it done for him...

I understand what you’re saying but remember they are pulling power out to get down the street. All slicks are not the same....I run Mickeys of corse I’m not making the power they are. If I remember correctly Daddy Dave runs Mickeys!

Lol.. Well that's my whole point of being stumped. If there taking it out to get down the street, then they should be able to put some back when at the track...

maybe this will refresh your memory:

I have high hopes for the no prep race show. the variety of cars and combos, letting the track surface be the equalizer, should prove to be entertaining.

don't know the actual time line but, wonder if the new time rules on SO was in prep for this series. chief getting the "team" in a better position to do well in that style of race.

as far as the mega race, ol' Dick Rawlings doesn't have a clue.

The Fireball Camaro ran in the 3.80's at lights out 9. There are systems on these cars getting them down the track. On Wed. almost nobody got off the starting line, and Stevie Fast goes 3.83, amazing when the best in the world are all together doing what they do.

The Fireball has a BIG block (500+ or something like that) with twin turbos you knew he could out run chief (he needs to step up.....guess he's hard headed), it was only a matter of time. It still sucks when you have to pull power out to get down the track..........prepped track and let them EAT! LOL!

Some of the cars at lights out 9 are near 5000hp, and even with all the prep these cars are turned down.

The Chief went 3.99 at lights out a few years ago, I would guess he has even more power now. I think his Poncho power will keep him very near the front on the outlaws.

I would think with things getting out of hand (engine wise) that he's probably sucking hind tit.......you know the saying...."you snooze you lose"!

The Proline ad is interesting to me, touting "keyway lifters". In the early years of aftermarket roller lifters (early-to-mid fifties) engine builders were anxious for an alternative to keyway lifters.

How many dollars for a Proline 572 engine?

I poked around on their web site a little. I think it's one of those deals where " if you have to ask the price", this engine is not for you. I did find the little "add on" turbo accessory package is only $40,000.00. So that should give you some idea. My guess is a ready to bolt in twin turbo package would be 130-150K. Once again, my scratch off lottery tickets keep coming up a little short. Very cool stuff though.

That's interesting. It makes my $1495 aftermarket Pontiac block purposed in another thread look brilliant!
