Well, I have the heads, valve train, cam, carb from a 880 HP 505. Was planing on a 900+ HP aluminum 535, have the pistons and crank for that.
The newly rebuilt heads with both Ti valves, rocker gear, pushrods studs are for sale on this page.I know where the highly ported Victor to match the heads is at, its for sale too. No reason to think I could not have gotten the 20 HP with a bigger engine, and larger 55mm cam. The heads are at Marcellas, he was going to make a Tiger intake fit the heads. You could have him do it for you. Think about it. The heads and the rest would make 850+, pump gas pretty easily. Normal wide ports make 800 HP, these are much better. |

I’m curious if you’ve had many responses?

I'm sure this has a lot of members here curious.
I'm sure you have to know that lots of Pontiac engine builders can build what you want. So, are you just trying to find a bargain price on a USED engine that meets your description ? Or, do you want the names of some of the builders who can build it for you ? http://www.krepower.com/Pontiac%20Street%20Engines.htm https://butlerperformance.com/i-2448...tegory:1267471 http://www.dcimotorsports.com/servic...ngine-builder/ http://www.spottsperformance.com/IA2%20engine%20block2 https://www.facebook.com/pages/Koern...58663244168447 https://www.facebook.com/PaulKnippensMuscleMotors/ http://lmc3470.wixsite.com/mccarty-r...-street-engine Your budget for this engine might be helpful, and might prevent some guys from wasting their time & yours. Just food for thought. Carry on. Last edited by ponyakr; 11-23-2017 at 02:18 PM. |

http://www.classracer.com/classforum...54&postcount=3 https://www.knfilters.com/news/news.aspx?id=3385 And there are probably lots guys who can do it, who don't own a complete machine shop. Richie Hoffman comes to mind. http://forums.maxperformanceinc.com/...r.php?u=158021 Another member here built a stock block engine that made 755hp @ 5900 rpm. So he would have no problem at all makin 850-900hp with more cubes & better parts. http://forums.maxperformanceinc.com/...11&postcount=3 Several of the class racers can probably do it. Scott Burton & John Clegg come to mind. Don't know exactly what engine building equipment all these guys have. But, they all have the know-how & experience. http://www.hotrod.com/articles/hppp-...tiac-firebird/ http://missiongarage.com/ I would be REALLY surprised if any of these guys could not make that kind of power, with that many cubes & all the parts that are available today. Hey, most of these guys have built 9 sec iron head 400 block Pontiac engines. Last edited by ponyakr; 11-23-2017 at 04:46 PM. |

"...Not the list I would pick..."
I see you're in CA. So, how about posting your list, for the OP, and for those of us with inquiring minds. |

For those who may have misunderstood my request, I am looking for a ready to go, built crate motor or other complete engine that meets my needs. I Would rather not wait for an aluminum block on back order or for an engine to be built. If there is an engine out there that’s ready to go, I’m interested in a 900+ HP 535ci or bigger pump gas motor - naturally aspirated- no power adders - preferably direct port fuel injection.

No one with a complete engine that meets my needs so far. I would rather not wait to have one built.

Now, I have been talking to Frank at AP, if you want a aluminum block, the time would be right now. They were going to do another run in Nov. Ask for a 55mm, 904 bushed lifter block. You are going to need it. Not absolutely necessary but you valves spring will last twice as long. You cam will by no means small. Call them up, bet its yours. I can give you Franks number if you want it. I was supposed to get one from this run. But will have to wait. And that block is the one to get. Talked to Verdi, he has 3 of them. The latest is a very good block. Did not need a bunch of extra work to get it ready. They have made the same HP and vacuum as iron blocks in like builds. |

Call Scott, have him line the rest up. Him and John work together on some things. Come on, how do you think Leech made the 1200. PM me, I can give you phone numbers. You got the money, let the pros do what they are paid to do. Best I know of. Leech gave me Scotts number, tried to point me in the right direction. OP, just do it, you will be happy. |

Now the 535 "or bigger" is a loaded statement. Aluminum blocks are near max @ 4.35 bore. Or, a 535 with a 4.5 stroke. 4.38 is max with a AP block, 4.35 with KRE block. There are 2-3 "in between" bores that you need to be aware of building a 535 AP aluminum block. Better off building a 525 @ 4.31.
If you want more stroke be prepared to spend way more money on billet pistons, high dollar ring pack, billet 8 counterweight crank, the best rods. Now if you want direct port injection, Marcella can make you a badd a$$ intake. |

I have always had good luck with Butler. You can look on their website and see several examples that should work for you. I was looking for a complete 505 or 535 race Motor to buy last year and never found a good used one. It’s not often that you see one show up here but when it does, it tends to get snatched up if it’s a good piece.

Them guys, what do they know bout going fast ?
Pretty simple for Tony to get it done. I would go that route before the big "Pontiac" shops. |
