Yup exactly. You want the fuel flow that your setup needs and if you're choosing a lower flowing pump because of fuel system issues, then the fuel system is the problem and needs revised.

That TBI fuel pump flows about 38 gallons per hour at 5 psi and 13.5 volts. It would only support about 380 crank hp in that situation. It won't even push the 58 psi that the FiTech unit needs so yes as you state you'd have to replace this pump anyhow. Though even at the 38gph rate at 5psi, most of us would be running out of fuel as typical engine builds tend to be around 400-450hp.

The Walbro 255lph pump is good for about 630 hp at 58 psi.

I installed my tanks inc setup in the 67 GTO today. Dropped right in. Powder coat was top notch. Instructions were good. My only complaint is that my tank straps were not coated. I thought that was weird so I had a local guy coat them for me to match the tank. I opted for the 400lph pump for future expansion. This is going to feed my mild 455 with FiTech EFI. At the advice of a friend who has 2 of these I got rid of the Tanks inc gaskets provided and made my own cork gaskets then used aviation glue to seal it.

Nice work! I took same advice on the gaskets.

I have seen a few posts about using cork rather than the supplied gaskets. Are the supplied gaskets really that bad? I assume the aviation glue is gasoline and alcohol resistant, what is it exactly and where is it for sale?

Nick, that's a quality looking piece. When I did mine a decade ago, only the drop in kit was available and I ended up buying a brand new tank, choosing a suitable location (not that easy as it turned out) and cutting the access for the Tanks-Inc kit with an appropriately sized hole saw.

Today I would go with the whole tank deal like yours, hands down!

Usually a very good idea to have too much venting vs not enough venting.

With a High Performance fuel pump you can move a lot of fuel quickly. This means that
the air in the tank has to take up the displaced volume. If the air coming from the outside
is not of sufficient volume to backfill the removed tank volume then you get a collapse of the container. Most times the collapse does not happen, just the fuel pump cannot work properly
as there is a restriction to flow on the inlet side of the pump (air not replacing the fuel).

NASCAR guys use very large vent hoses for a couple of different reasons.

The Tanks, inc Engineers would not have installed the dual tank vents, if there was not a reason for it. Factory tanks in the past have had as many as 6 vents installed on the tank to cover different vehicle attitudes the vehicle might be subjected to.

Nice upgrades on some parts (Cork).

Bringing this back as I have a question. Will, are those 1/4 NPT nipples/pipe and fittings with a 1/4 npt to AN fitting on the end?
I will be making the same setup on my new Tanksinc Tank. Nice work.
Thanks
