I think that blonde is one of the space hippies in the Star Trek episode: The Way to Eden. Could be from a different episode though.

I checked the IMDB and this girl, Joi Lansing, was never on Star Trek. Getting mostly small parts her best known role was playing the wife of Lester Flatt on the Beverly Hillbillies.

Looks like you guys nailed it on the car being a Nudie.

No, your thinking of Mary Linda Rapelye

Now the girl in the picture is Joi Lansing. Joi died in 1972!

Why do some of those Star Trek girls seem so hot? Just enough showing I guess ... old school sexy.

That Pontiac as well as many others were customized by
Nudie Cohen. The same guy who did the Nudie boots/clothes and hats.

Is this a case of car abuse, or child abuse?

Hopefully, this car wash didn't have one of those horizontal rollers that went over the top of the car too, or those kids are in for a surprise.

I wonder if they jumped in for the photo after the top roller? OR maybe turned the power to the brushes off? Looks like its near the roof already?

In high school I worked at a Shell station with one of those chain drive car washes. I have a few good stories to go with it. One was a lady that turned her radio back on after I told her to keep it off. Power antenna went back up & was quickly torn off by the side brush. It somehow got lodged into the brush just long enough to beat the side of the car with it a few time before falling to the ground. Probably not so funny to those involved, but was hilarious to my 17 year old self at the time.

This should have been used as an album cover. I'd like to have ridden shotgun with Mr. Mojo snatchin' gears in a 440:

It was until shortly after new, my mom blew it up on the NJ Turnpike while dad was in the Chilean jungle. Then it got a 1600 in it. We had a German mechanic who worked out of his garage, Victor Lyschik. He, along with 7 other Germans, escaped on foot from a Siberian prison. 3 of them survived & reached Germany long after the war ended, not knowing it was over. That man could fix anything. His wife would always have candy there for me when we came to pick up. It became my first car. I sold it in '82 for $400 with about 180k on it and no floor pans to speak of.
