Default 68 convertible power window regulator

Have a 68 GTO convertible with power windows. Looking for regulators and want to know if manual regulator can be converted to power? See lots of manual ones for sale but not power. Front aren't bad but rear are in tough shape. How are the new replacements? Have not seen power ones for sale. Also will all 68 to 72 a body works and are convertible different than hard top. Thanks for any help. I am to the point of maybe converting to manual if it is something I can do. Thanks Doug

Somebody correct me if I'm wrong, but I believe all 68-72 A body rear power window regulators are interchangeable. Fronts, not so much as 68 are one year only, as are 69, with 70-72 the same. Vert and hardtop are the same.

I *think* this is correct. Rears are all the same, '68 fronts are unique, '69-72 fronts all interchange even if the '69 are technically different in appearance from '70-72.

I know the front are different due to the vent window on all the 68 a bodys. But the real question is the rear and are they the same on the convertible vs hard top. My last option would be to change to manual but do like power and don't know how difficult that swap is. Thanks for the help.

Default Hi

Here is the rear window tracks with the convertible only upper bracket...

and the hardware to mount them ....

Sorry it took a couple days to get over there to get em .........

convert on the left .... h top on the right

the upper bracket is unique to the convertible quarter panel

the verts are flatter there and the hardtop curves up to the roof.....so the shape changes

Scott

these are from a 69 skylark convert .........

shoot me an offer thru the pm if you have interest still

I can box em in with the power regulators ...

on the front regs...
68 is 68
69 is 69
70 72 interchange..
69 has an equalizer or extra arm that 70-72 dont have......

68-72 the rear regs interchange even between hardtop and convertible....

67 is the last year for "convertible" rear regs..the pinion gear count is different between the two..i think convert is 21 and hardtop is 23..or the other way i cant remeber which

Here's pics of a manual and a power rear regulator.

I also threw in a nice pic showing the difference between 68 and 69 front regulators.
