Nothing about the Ortz hood is even remotely like a Chevy IMO. I like both Glasstek and the Ortz..I just think the Ortz hood steps out of the box a bit, and I like its curvier design.

Nothing more nothing less. At least its Pontiac oriented. Did I miss where the OP asked for opinions on them?

Brian
Exactly, I need a hood to cover the tunnel ram and I happen to like the way the Ortz hood does it best, and...I'm not positive, but it looks like the Ortz hood might be a little roomier than the Glasstek. I like the more rounded convex side profile of the Ortz. As far as the opinions go...they are all good...I welcome them and respect them. We all have our own taste, that’s what makes things interesting. Just imagine if you went to the drags and everybody all had the same exact thing...can you say "boring." You know, kind of like if you went to the drags and there was nothing but Chevys there. I love seeing Fords, Mopars, AMCs, Buicks, Oldsmobiles, (AMXs are badass) Studebakers and can even appreciate a Chevy, and all the better when they stick with the same brand engine as the car. oK...getting off topic here...back to the hood

Thanks for the pics Walter! Like BADDTA said "looks kick ass"....

Side note...progress went a bit backwards tonight in trying to get my car back together, The engine was close to being able to start and break in the cam etc ..I was taking a carburetor off and dropped a flat washer into the plenum...I just saw a flash of something falling into the plenum and realized it was a washer. I couldn't tell which of the four ports it went into but of course two of them had a wide open intake valve. Had to pull the whole top of the motor apart and remove both heads to find the washer sitting on top of the number 6 piston sitting at BDC...dammit!!!! Of course it couldn’t have been under the first head I pulled off. I don’t know how well the Wenzler 1st design is going to perform compared to the Nash/Warrior tunnel ram or 1st design Torker I ran so many years ago...I don’t know how well it is going to flow air/fuel mixture into the cylinders, but I did discover tonight that it very efficiently directs small parts into the cylinder :-(

This brings me to my next thread ...I would like some input from those of you who have had experience with the Wenzler 1st design tunnel-ram. Can I expect it to work as well as the Nash/Warrior tunnel-ram? I know the runners are a bit small, lacking any taper from the plenum to the head..like the Gutsram. I'd just like to hear from any of you who have had or know of any combinations with this manifold that runs 10 seconds and quicker. I'm running 48 Dports with a large solid flat tappet..ran consistent 10.90s with the Nash 2-4 setup. I'll be running a little bigger cam, more port work on the exhausts and headers with bigger primaries and collectors (1 7/8"/3.5" collectors) improved suspension. Hoping to run at least as good as it did before, but would love to get close to 10.50s. Hoping the 2x4 Wenzler 1st design can deliver...would love to hear reports good and bad about the manifold. I want a Gustram, but in the meanwhile want to give the early design a chance. Thanks guys, sorry for the long post...drank too much coffee and amped up after dropping washer in engine, had to tear it before I went to bed. I wasn’t going to be able to sleep wondering where the washer went

Thanks for posting the pictures. These pictures illustrate the more rounded convex features of the Ortz hood which appeal to me. That is a beautiful 68 Firebird. I'd like to know more about the car....what times does it run, the engine and drivetrain combo etc
