Norwalk Qw 16 ?
How does it work? Does your Qualifying time become your dial in? Pro tree or sportsman?
How many qualifying passes and when? Thanks

Your qualifying time is just to get you in the field. You can change your dial in every round if needed. It's a regular 5 tenths sportsman full tree. Here are the rules posted on their page:

Quick 16 entries on Saturday - Race in Regular bracket class Sunday - 16 qualified cars race KRE Quick 16 program ONLY Non-qualified entries can race in the Sunday bracket program KRE Quick 16 winner does not run in the “Chief of the Pontiacs” final

Also, normally they have 8 door cars and 8 open body cars. If there isn't enough of one they will fill in from the other side.

I'm thinking the bump could be pretty low, somewhere around 8.30 door side.......maybe lower!

Should be interesting to see where that bump winds up

Correct...for instance if it takes 2stages of nitrous for you to qualify and say run a 7.99,you can't turn both systems off and dial your car 9.18.....but you can dial between a 7.89-8.09......did that help?

I believe that's only for the 1st round?
After the 1st round, you could dial any number? Basically, they don't want the guy with 2 kits of NOS to pump it full to qualify, then go to a smaller one to keep from blowing his stuff up. Run what you brung and keep running it that way.

Thanks but I was wondering about open cars, and what makes a car open or a door car?
My car doesn't have doors that open, ( full of bars ) and has no top, which side would I be in? And I did find last years open side, only 4 were entered. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Q16 bump is 8.61 door side, Roger Ibbotson is no.1 at 7.99 69 blown GTO No.2 is snowing in the cylinders Jack Humprey 3 at 8.16 No.3 is George Zimnicky 8.27 No.4 is Kevin Poe 8.39 No.5 is Eric Vogl 8.45 No.6 is Dwight Ausmus 8.54 No. 7 is Dave Polichena 8.56 No.8 is Tom Seelman 8.61 No.1 is Kevin Swaney is 6.93 at 191 JNo.2 is Jeff Kaufman 7.84 No.3 is Dave Scott 8.35 No. 4 is Deon Daugherty 8.92 Last edited by v869tr6; 07-24-2013 at 10:03 PM. |

I would think you get to run with the dragsters roadsters and funny car type vehicles... If you run mid eights your probably in it unless alot more open cars show up. Looks like they give you a cushion of +/- .10 sec from your dial if I understand the rules.

I would say you would be with the door cars. Most races if you are left hand steer they classify you as a door car. You have doors wether they open or not so that's my guess to which side you would be qualifying.

"If its got doors its a door car if it doesn't its not".........that's a Bill Bader quote!
With these so called 1100-1400 HP engines out there the Q16 BUMP should be around 8 flat, but we all know how that works!! LOL!!! GTO George |
