I just checked the Pontiac web site and found that several dealers in my area have 2005s (according to GM Buy Power). Anyone purchased a 2005 yet?

Financing offer is 5.9% on the '05. Wonder what the remaining '04's are going for NOW?

LS1GTo is saying they show up on Buypower prior to residing at the dealers, they have 1 05 owner posting so far. No word from my dealer as to an 05 yet.

I just went to the LA Auto Show over the weekend and checked out the '05 in person. Everything I liked about the '04 is still there, as well as one thing I didn't like: the lack of a dead pedal for the left foot. As the car I was sitting in was a manual, I don't know if the 4-spd autos have it or not, but I'd guess not.

The hood scoops are low-key enough to not scream "Rice!" the way a Subaru WRX does and the tail pipes... well, they're no bigger than a G35 coupe's, though I think dual/dual would have been the way to go.

I've started to see a few more '04's on the road around LA, but they are still exceedingly rare.

So, anyone else have any first-hand experiences with the '05 yet?

Absolutely, although I'm sure I'll get some lame ass responses disputing this, picking it apart in some vain attempt at discreditation or worse yet showing pictures of other cars from other manufacturers that aren't even in the same league as the GTO but split duals are a distinct part of the Pontiac personality and it would be cool to see them on the 05. I do like the machined tips though.

My wife works for the Pontiac dealer where I purcahased my '04 GTO and according to the General Sales Manager, the first shipment of '05s arrived in the Port of San Francisco on 12/27/04. Although their records indicate that there are 3 of the cars they ordered as part of that shipment, GM would not indicate when the cars would arrive at the dealer. They did say it would be "somewhere about" the first to mid February.

Also posted in the Lobby....I just bought an '05 GTO A4, Cyclone Grey/Blanck Interior from Guy Schmidt Pontiac in Glendale, CA. I highly recommend them. Talk with Lee, he'll take care of ya. I paid $500 over dealer invoice, got the loyal customer discount(based on my '64 GTO) plus Lee gave me a $500 employee coupon which I had to split with the dealership so I basically paid below invoice with all the incentives. This car is sweeeeeeeeeeet! I had an '05 Mustang GT on it's way but I drove the '05 Goat and that was that. The interior is much nicer than the Mustang GT, it is way faster, handles tighter and rides smoother. With the traction control off you can get sideways from a standstill. I am VERY pleased with this car. I'll post some pics as soon as I get a chance to take some.

That review is music to my ears. You seriously got a loyalty for the 64? Now that is sweet, looking forward to the pics...

So, I went to Livingston Chevy/Pontiac/Buick in Van Nuys, CA yesterday and checked out the '05s. They had two, count 'em, TWO 6M impulse blues with matching interior blue on the lot! This is exactly the car I would buy if I were buying one now.

Pricing seemed reasonable... $500 off MSRP. $331XX. No market adjustment. I'm sure a better deal can be struck, considering invoice is $312XX. But... can it be that at least one dealer learned the lessons of the '04?

My dealer's first 05 arrived this past Friday afternoon - Black on Black, auto. Was still waiting to be prepped. I'm going back on today for a closer look and to maybe snap a few photos.
