Took a red 05 auto GTO for a test drive Monday... I regret doing that now because now I am forced to start brainwashing the wife into agreeing we need this car!! ( well not the red auto as I would prefer the 6spd). Very nice ride.. seats are super comfy & you dont have that sitting on the floor feel of my WS6 TA. You can actually get to the whole engine also.. very rare now days...

Time to go get my plan into action ( evil laugh )

Heres a pic of my 65 GTO back in 1988.... these pics were about a week apart...

and after a 4x4 blazer hit me...

Sounds very familiar. I'd been researching the GTO for a couple of months, then found out I was getting a better-than-average bonus & tax refund. By then the '05s were hitting dealerships, so I started working on my wife. I played martyr, making the point that every new car we had bought in the last 15 years was hers. Poor, pitiful me. It worked. She was all for it, and the rest is history.

That sucks about your '65. It hurts to look at that photo.

You're just weak like the rest of us . Seriously, before I test drove mine, I was like, do I really want this car? Then, after the test drive, that question was answered with a resounding YES!! After ten months, I still can't foresee ever letting it go. And yes, if you don't intend to buy it, test driving is a MISTAKE.

How does one afford this car, though?

36 months at no interest is like $900 a month!

Hefty down payment, like $12-13K, and finance over 5 years. I'm not planning on ever getting rid of mine.

This will not be a mistake if you by it. I have a 2004 Torrid red one with red interior and I love it. Put Limeted Alloy's 507 chrom wheels on it a month ago and added the LS! Tech air induction to it last week. It's a hit at the local cruises.
