PMD
Well after many years of thinking about how to build custom PMD wheels which would do justice to the hobby, I believe I have come up with a respectable one off prototypes. Here is last weekends work. Let me know what you think. Like no like?

VERY, very nice!
I wonder if the spinners would fit on Centerline Champ 500 wheels? I kind of have a thing for Champs.......
 What is the inside diameter on the spinner? Thanks! |

You must of been reading my mind. I think the center hub is around 3 inches. I'm literally drawing this as I reply to this thread. This evening, I will have some better numbers to post. Still thrashing out the engineering. This is the 4th design concept that is less parts and more sturdy. Because the hub has no real mounting areas and this particular wheel is designed to receive the center cap from the back, it makes it far more difficult to design the mounting shaft.

and a set that says disc brakes with the red center...

Very nice looking! Depending on what wheels could work with it - I might be very interested. That spinner could really dress up a set of factory steelies or some Rally I's - in addition to many alloy rims.

I may sell a set or two, but this project is a limited custom run that is pretty damn expensive to produce. Not many guys would be interested. Pretty is expensive after all. The costs involved just to get the parts is the limitation. The machine work, jigs and time, though expensive in itself, is pretty much swallowed by other things in a bigger picture.
Some caps fit Hurst and Cragar wheels and others would be ultra fabrication for specific wheels. The 1964 Pontiac GTO hubcap looks pretty damn cool too. Last edited by 428RA4; 06-02-2014 at 10:04 PM. |

OK -
Yes they can be mounted to a Rally II wheel with additional modifications to the spinner along with cutting a modified backing plate. The spinner along with the medallion is a custom cut for fit. In general, the larger 1964 spinner does not look good on the Rally II wheel and would be far more involved to mount and create parts for. Besides that, you need to be able to access the lug nuts, which is another challenge that always had to be taken into consideration. The smaller spinner is doable. |

Visually there is a big difference between the standard Rally II center cap and the prototypes. Seems that the larger medallion fits the scale better vs. the smaller II cap.
