I had the same end hanging there from my factory harness (my car does not have the cornering light option). It was a rare option. The cornering light is visible on the car in this pic.

68 and 69 A bodies had a separate fender mounted light that lit up when the turn signal for that side was activated. It was a steady light, not flashing.
You needed a special turn signal switch...

Easy way to ID the 8.2 is brake line tee bolts to the top cover bolt.

On the 8.5 it bolts directly to the top of the housing itself.
