Default Part identification help

Took the dash and glove box apart in our '73 Fire Am to diagnose a nasty rattle. Found the fastener that attaches the rear of the heater control assy to the support bracket below was missing. Easy repair. Upon re-installation of everything I found a part I could not identify near where I had laid the glove box and door. Can anyone identify this part and where it belongs?
THANK YOU!

Have never seen a part like that related to the dash components or glove box, so I got nothing. Maybe its a custom part related to the fire am or other mods the car has? Hope you can identify it.

I performed the Herb Adams Fire Am upgrade myself, in 1978, and it's not related to that.
Thanks though!

Hold down type washer goes on a stud or something?
Or a triangle type 'nut' for a bolt?

Actually looks familiar but for what, CRS?

Looks like it may be a corner reinforcement that fits over a fiber or cardboard piece that would help keep the corresponding hole from tearing out under stress.

With the threaded hole its probably for something like you mentioned... but for what or if its even related to a 2nd gen firebird is the mystery.

I have a mild case of CRS too but have torn apart & reassembled enough of these cars recently that i dont recognize that as anything for a 2nd gen, especially glove box or dash related.

Looks to me like one of the grab bar mounts have broken off.

Grab bar mounts to the dash with speed clips & the little 5/16 head bolts used all over the dash.

He asked. I gave an answer. Take a picture and prove me wrong. I'll provide one after getting back from camping.

OK, and I replied to your answer, wasnt trying to prove you wrong or anything...

the grab handle mounts as mentioned, the screws go in sideways, one on each end using a speed clip for threads on a thin piece of the dash plastic. the screw doesnt go into the threaded hole on that triangle piece is all i was saying. you can kind of see it here if zoomed in, if you need a pic there are others on google or i can get a pic of a dash I have. https://firebirdtransamparts.com/tec...ness/dash3.jpg

OK. It wasn't the grab bar mount. Just a little lower.
