Default Oil support rail issue

I have custom Ross racing pistons. The wrist pin is in the oil ring groove, so they came with oil support rings. The instructions says to install support rail and then the ring pack as normal. I can not fit both oil rings and the scraper, there is not enough space. Oil support ring pistons are to be machined with 0.030 extra height in the oil ring land. I am wondering if this was left out when my pistons where made..

Sure sounds like it. I'd measure the grove and then contact Ross.

That, or you have the wrong oil control rings. Maybe the pistons are intended for a more-narrow oil ring.

The only rings I find have 3/16 oil controle rings.
But there is no doubt about that if using support ring, both upper and lower oil ring is to be used with the scraper?

3/16 = .1875

4mm = .1575

About .030 thinner.

Are you sure you have the correct rings? You need to contact Ross.

Sounds like you have a set of rings that use a 3/16" ( .187") oil control ring and you need a set of rings with a 1/8" (.130") oil control ring set up.

If this is so then height of your oil ring groove in the Pistons should measure a few thousands less then .200".

Yes and yes. Dimple over the wrist pin.
