Question Will 245mm tire fit on a 14x6 Rally II wheel?

I have 245/60R14 BFG's on my 14x7 Centerline wheels that barley clearance left-to-right and want to swap over to Rally II wheels for a more traditional look.

I'd like to get original Rally IIs from the junkyard and refurbish them vs. buying new aftermarket rims. I believe the most popular factory Rally II wheels were 14x6s? Is that correct? Did Pontiac ever make a 14x7 Rally II? (I learned in another post that Pontiac only made 15x7s, 15x8s are aftermarket.)

Will 245/60s fit on a 14x6 Rally II and have the proper clearance when turning or do I need to use 14x7 rims?

Thanks!

Jim.

14x7” Rally II wheels are common and really not too hard to find.

Don’t squeeze those 245/60s onto a 6” wide wheel, they’re barely a good fit on a 7” wheel.

Without knowing the backspacing on your Centerlines it’s hard to say how the Rally wheels will fit in comparison. The 14x7” Rally IIs have a 4-3/8” backspace from what I’ve seen.

I have a set of 4 original 14X7 Rallye II wheels in good condition. They would need blasting and repainting to look nice though. I don't have any need for them and would let them go for a fair price if you are interested. I live in Texas though. Shipping would be expensive. However, I have a condo in Boulder and might be making a trip up there mid March or so.

Here's some photos I dug out of my 14X7 wheels. Right now, these wheels are up in my attic. I had the tires dismounted and discarded since they were old. But you can see how 245/60R-14 tires look on them. I thought they looked pretty good but I wanted to go with 15s on the car and that is why I don't need these. Since they aren't original to the car, I don't need to save them for any reason. All original parts I'm not using in my restomod of this car I am saving in case I or someone I sold the car to wants to restore it back to original.

Thanks b-man! Good to know I can get original 14x7s. What is the typical backspacing for a 14x7 Rally II? I'll have to pull one of my front tires to check the backspacing on my Centerlines to do a comparison. Thx!

Thanks for the offer! Note that I only need 2 x 14x7 wheels for my front tires as the rears will be 15x7s. Your rims look very nice compared to the hashed 15x7s I got out if the junkyard and restored for my rear slicks!

It you are interested in selling just two of them, perhaps we can work out a deal, especially if you'll be in Boulder in March?! Feel free to PM me for the price if you are willing to sell just two of them.

Thanks again!

I'd prefer not to break up the set but if I still have them at the time I make that trip to Boulder, I may reconsider.
I need to do a bit of research on the value of these. Just want to ask a reasonable price to both buyer and seller.

That sounds good! Yeah, I can see not wanting to break up the set. If you reconsider, let me know. Thanks!
