We went in 2016 for the 75th anniversary. A very somber experience.

I have visited the Arizona memorial and was totally unprepared for the emotion that swept over me as I stood there realizing I was standing over the grave of 1000+ men. Very humbling. The flag in my shadow box was flown over the memorial. Never forget.

I just pray you are right, with what is being taught in schools today, I am not so sure; but those in my family will not forget!

When we visited in 2016 for the 75th anniversary, we took our daughter and our grandson. Back in 2013 when we took both of them to Germany for Christmas, we went through the **** Documentation Center in Nuremburg and the concentration camp at Dachau. The young man has more than a clue. That grandson is now home on Christmas leave before being deployed to Okinawa for the next three years as a Crew Chief for a VM-22 Osprey. |

Just got the news that a friend and neighbor, a WWII vet passed away Monday. He wasn't at Pearl Harbor but he was in the war. I'm so glad that I sat down and talked to him just a couple of weeks ago at our VFW meeting. There aren't many of those vets left.
