Interested in a car
So saw a car I’m interested in, however the car is in another State. Are there Companies that have people that you can hire to go check the car out for you, do an inspection on it to make sure it’s everything the owner proposes it is? And how do I go about this?
Any help greatly appreciated!

That’s exactly what I need. The car is to far for us to go look at it ourselves. Owner seems legit, but these days I don’t trust anyone unless someone can verify they are reputable. I bought one sight un seen from the assurance from a member here who had purchased from that guy and the car was exactly what he said it was. Buying and selling Trans AMs and Camaros and Vettes is what he does. But this guy I know nothing about, just a guy selling a car.

I just did this with a car in Michigan. Paid 250 dollars for an online buddy to look. Ultimately I couldn’t trust anyone else and passed. 76 trans am 4 speed car. Was damn pretty. But a Michigan car. How good could it of really been? We’ll never know for sure. So I bought a 69 firebird California car that I thought stunk because a cat pissed in it. Turned out it was full of dead rats that ate all the wiring. Don’t ask me to look at it for you. I can’t be trusted either !!!

There are services that do this as well as friend of friends. I have heard horror stories from both accounts. Personally I would never buy a car sight unseen regardless of where its located. Im sure that a $500 plane ticket (and that may be high) and a rental car for a weekend is a minimal buy in for the asking price of a 78 trans am. Long weekend with a road trip would be fun as well, shouldnt be more than a 15/16 hr drive. Heck Ive done that to SC and back on my motorcycle for lunch!

If you read the fine print those companies aren't responsible for a lot of things or anything they happen to "miss". Those things are usually just what I am really interested in.

Only once did I buy a car had not personally inspected and had a number of "surprises". Any more I buy only no-rust Florida cars (out of state add $500 for DMV fees and title nightmares).
Are also only a few people I would trust to properly inspect a car. Is best to buy a really nice car that the numbers do not match so you can enjoy it now. Ultimately a nice car will cost less than a "project". Best to decide exactly what you want - make, model, year, options (all of my cars have AC), and colors - and not settle for anything else. ps Solly Cholly, prices tanked this time last year and have skyrocketed since. |

Next time try face timing with your phone and do a walk around, take pics while they do that and see it run.
I bought a KTM that way.

Autopappriasers is nothing more then some guy whom have invented a sophisticated glamorous appealing 12 Page specialty service they offer that will circumvent the reality of car buying experience, putting you in a weird place.
That actually results in this scenario saddles” you with the expensive “unseen type” purchase then shipping move ordeal pay them 500 bucks for some expert looking report, , then you need to pay a bumbling Russian owned car haulers outfit, another 2000 bucks, unloads it some fine day, then your looking at “IT”, that is impossible to reverse if its NOT what you were told or expected just isn’t quit the mind pictures or camera pictures you were impressed with!! Get sober before they do this to you! Go there in person , you're going to spend the 500 with an outfit so spend it on a plane ticket, and maybe drive it home,. or round trip and have a car hauler move it once you approve of its condition In person.. If it cannot make it 2000 miles driving to your place, do you really want to own it? Unless his a known basket case! |
