front disk brake hose
This shouldnt be this hard, but it is..........i have a 66 gto, but i have the disk brakes for a 69-72 deal, got the new hoses from Ames, cant get them to fit.
Looked at what i had on the car for the last 20 years, part # is 36646, says for a 74-76 Camaro/Firebird.........when checking for this # the interchange comes up as 2201022, but on Summits site it says not for 74-76 Camaro/Firebird........... At NAPA they say its for a 74-76...........dont know why im confused. lol Just wondering what front disk brake hoses you guys are using when you change to the 69-72 calipers and rotors. In the pics you can see on the newer part, the hex head is too big to fit the hole right, the old part goes in good. Any help would be great Rich |

Maybe you can replace the mounting brackets on the frame that hold the hoses with later(69-72) brackets. Ames part # R187MD 69-71 "Front brake hose to frame brackets" $23pr.

As already mentioned, you ned to replace the drum brake hose brackets with disc brake hose brackets.

Looked at the parts alot closer just now, see the bando bolt is different on the two parts, so its either the file deal, or burn up another few days waiting for the right part.
Thanks for straightening the old boy out. Rich |
