Looking for a Pontiac Arrowhead/Crest
On the hunt for a flat (not curved) Arrowhead that measures ~2.75" for a little project I have going.
Not vehicle specific, but I'd prefer whatever style was used in the early 70's (I've seen them in chrome/black trim, red, gold inlay, etc.) The random ones I have in my parts bin are all too big for what I have planned Are there any vehicles that came with them in this size? I may be able to get away with one that's 3", but no bigger Last edited by 98 SNAKE EATER; 12-22-2020 at 01:31 AM. |

You might have to look at some various wheel center caps. They'd be a bit smaller.

Were there any on caps that were removable?
Any idea what car the smaller ones in the pic above came from? |

I don't know what those are from and I can't think of a wheel that had a stand alone arrowhead. Just the red foil ones on the '70s Rally II centers...As far as those yo pictured, if I had to guess I'd maybe think something from the 80s~90s? Grand Prix, Bonneville, G6, G8, Aztek?

Has to be the emblem itself (not round centercap)
I know this sounds cheesy, but I plan on sticking it on a vanity plate to make it look like a letter and I'm just tring to match the size of the other digits |

I may have one , but it is in my toolbox in Ohio. I am in Florida for a few more days. I can check the measurements when i get home if you haven't found one.

Here is a picture of emblem. Not sure what it was for -box is missing. It is 2.5in long by 1in wide at top, about 3/16 thick, with adhesive on back

OK, so here's what I was thinking....
All of my cars have some kinda cheesy license plate Unfortunately, in Florida you're limited to only 7 characters and their new automated application system uses 8 boxes, so if you have an odd number of characters, it will be off to the left or right and not centered. On my old beater, the kids chose this and there was no way to center it, so it had an empty space off to the right On my Road Runner, I wanted it centered, so I used only 6 letters and put stickers in the emtpy spaces My niece came up with NGRYBRD while playing one of her video games I figred I could flip an emblem to fill the empty space https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DUop-3HH5yw I figure a raised emblem will suit the stampped letters better, but if I can't find one that's the proper size, I settle for a printed decal |

I think a good decal will look just as good if not better than a raised 3D emblem off of a hood or what have you. After all, that's the way the state does it when they make those special interest tags. Just a 2D image.

In Florida, we still have Stamped personalized tags In NY, they swtiched from stamped to printed for custom plates (this one isn't mine btw) What's funny is that when they made the switch to printed, a ton of cars got impounded because the plates looked fake I ordered a used emblem from a Vibe hatch (2.75"), so I'll see how it looks like soon enough |
