Default 1964 GTO EBAY

Interesting write-up https://www.ebay.com/itm/1964-Pontia...sAAOSwTWNe4K6- Wonder if the car was put on a frame machine after the crash

If that is Yorktown Blue the seller needs to tweak his camera.

It's pretty evident in the photos that the white balance (color temp) of the seller's camera is way off.

It's obvious that the driveshaft stripe has been recently applied. Even though it's had a lot more done than just a repaint, it's a very nice 64.

It does look like a clean and pretty honest car.

The rear seat belts are a strange arrangement located on side trim panels.
Most of the interior pics are too dark to discern.
They would definitely get better action on the auction with better quality pictures.

edit - looked at exterior pics again
it almost looks closer to iris mist than yorktown
they need a total redo on all their pictures
People are bidding on those pictures ... or to say - maybe Not Bidding

Wasn't Iris Mist a '65 (and not '64) color?

yes indeed.
Was just saying it looks closer to iris mist than yorktown, on my monitor.
They do state it is Yorktown though, so it probably really is, in person.

What’s with the seatbelt in picture 18?

Question SEAT BELTS

Looks like someone attempted to emulate later model shoulder belts.

Installing new carpet,& bolting the seats on top of the carpet. and to keep your mind off that they added seatbelt retractors.

Interesting positioning of the air cleaner.

Seeing as how this was owned by the original owner, he should have known it is supposed to be mounted like this:

I think the two FRONT markings confused him so he averaged between the two!

If you are referring to the current seller, that could be true.

I was referring to the original owner that was so detailed he still had information on his first gas fill from the day he bought the car...

Still, if you're trying to sell a numbers matching car in mostly original condition, better photos and attention to simple details is warranted.

I agree. I kind of cringed a little when I first saw the photo of the engine. And what's up with that oil cap breather? Was that an alternate style that was used at one point? Never have I seen one like that.

This is a California sold car, when new.

That is the California “closed system” sealed oil cap. See below.

It goes with the air cleaner tube that plugs into the LH valve cover.
The metal tube has been cut in half on this particular car, unfortunately.

Chris.
