Default Wish we were racing.

Man this no racing **** sucks when you have a new combo sitting ready to go test. I understand as a country we have to social distant and be smart but man I cant wait to go racing again. Any else have any new combos ready for 2020? Everyone be safe and let's hope this passes sooner than later.

I don’t have a new combo but I am still ready for the track to open back up...I was hoping to have a new combo together for my other 69 GTO but now I can’t get parts!

This down time has been like a second off season. Working on a few performance performances since Bradenton.

Yeah, I have a "new combo"- the DOHC hemi Pontiac 4-banger, in place of the prior owner's SBC in my lakester!
I'm chafing at the bit to get it onto the landspeed track at Loring Maine (clocks at 1 & 1.5 mile). I've only test-run it on dragstrips so far, but (amazingly!) it's done nothing wrong (with "short" gearing it got me to 85 mph in the tenth-mile). Hopefully the July 17th-20th Loring event will be a 'go'- if not I'll have to wait for the Harvest event in the fall.

How much do you plan on your Firebird social distancing itself from Brian at the finish line?

I don't race my car often, but bought a new helmet and was ready to go test my swap to sequential fuel and spark, and head and cam change to see where I'm at. Sucks that I'll probably have to wait 6 more months now for decent weather by the time this is over with... This too shall pass...

I agree this is disappointing. The weather and work schedule didn't allow us to test a new converter in one car and a cam timing change in the other last fall. Now waiting for this deal to end.

Going to be a huge turnout when the tracks reopen. First & only day Delmar opened this year had the most street cars I've ever seen there, which is what I like best. Yes, I know we're slow amateurs.

Can't even go Bowling. Local Bowling alley canceled all Leagues because they CLOSED, and For Sale...!!!!!!!

So the local 1/4 mile tracks are more interesting to me now. Street/Strip 4L80'd GTO needs a 60foot time.

Scott I saw a note on the Baytown track manager's Facebook about some private rentals still happening.

Weather has been fantastic here in Florida. Car is ready to go. But it has turned into a garage queen.

Today would be great here cool and dry, not like a few days ago when it was 90 and humid.

Car is not even close,so when the tracks open does not matter to me;but,it is a good time to get some work done on it.

Yeah Skip the last couple days have been very nice. Doubt we'll have this weather much longer. You know if they'd allow a group to do a rental?

I've got the top end of my engine in pieces around my garage and the heads are at my engine builder's shop (still open). I just can't get motivated with all the uncertainty in the current situation. Ellen and I walk every day and watch re-runs and read, but I can't seem to get out into the garage. Meanwhile, the weather is perfect for it here in Tucson now--70's during the day--but the tracks are closed and nobody has a clue how long this will last.

Jim
