Vanity Mirror part of Custom Trim Pkg?
This Vanity mirror was double sided taped to the passenger side sun visor in my 1970 T/A. The mirror has the "GM" logo in the corner. My car was built with the Custom Trim Pkg. My question is: Would the mirror have been included with the Custom Trim Pkg or do you think the mirror was a parts counter addition? Thanks.

There's a NOS mirror like that on ebay in box, complete with 3M tape on rear and How to clean your visor instructions. Sounds like a cheap and nasty way to add a mirror somewhat temporarily until it fell off. The other version including the bulky type with the built-in lighting pressed into the holes stamped into the board. No logo on this one.

The deluxe interior option in 70 did not include a vanity mirror.

So it was just an addition you could add from the GM parts room I guess. Would you re-install it? Thanks everyone.

Yes I do have the PHS and there is no entry for Visor Mirror. I suppose I might put it back on or at least keep it in the glove box.

for some reason i was thinking (when initially reading this) that the factory installed units had "legs" that pushed into holes in the cover and cardboard backing??

Here's a stripped set of visors showing mirror option holes, push in plugs for small mirror, larger clearance holes for hot lighting bulb holders.

While the visor may have holes for it under the padding, most GM ones were slide on with 2 spring tabs. I still say it was Not part of the Custom trim group based on my experience.
I loaned my dealer accessory manual out or I would show pics of them. The Electric ones I have seen in a Grand Ville of that era. |

Am I correct to remember that the LIGHTED visor vanity mirror option was not available in '70-73? If yes, then when did it become available? 1977?

I have never seen A Factory lighted visor mirror on a Bird. I set up a lot of 76-81 cars when new. Bonneville was best shot at this kind of Luxury from the factory. I would think if it was going to be stock in Any bird, the R/Y/B ( Birds) Esprits would have qualified as they were marketed to women. Later birds had thin cardboard visors with no padding. |

I have an older "Pontiac" one that have retaining tabs that would be used to hold it in place... at least I think I have a "Pontiac" one!?!
