Default Engine Diaper

I am getting to the point where I have decided I would like to run an engine diaper. It will be going on a tube chassis car so I don't guess there is much clearance issues. Engine does have a Moroso 8 quart deep pan. Is there a universal type diaper that you all could recommend or is it something I would special order? Never had any experience with an engine diaper. Any help would be appreciated.

Have you considered adding a belly pan?

I have seen a few newer builds with a belly pan. I do like that idea. The pan would hang low though as this oil pan is very deep/tall and is pretty close to the ground as is. I guess it could zeus fasten to the frame bars.

I would like to hear from someone that windowed an oil pan or worse a block and a belly pan held debri and oil and kept it off the tires. I have a DRE diaper and can attest that they work.

When I bought my DRE diaper, I paid the extra $100 for the Kevlar material with a violent "explosion" in mind. It's hard to imagine a belly pan would work as well.

I have seen your car before Jim, but I cannot remember if it was a full tube chassis or not? Looked at the Stroud Webpage. What part number did you get? Was it a universal type fit? How was the install?

I have a carbon fiber belly pan that is removable with dzus fittings similar to what pro mods and pro stocks use. I can install or remove it in maybe 10 seconds. I had a diaper years ago. Touched the headers. Melted. Was saturated in oil. Wasn't a fan of the diaper.

i don't have one on my car yet. i am getting ready to order this from stroud for my daughters car:

NEW Stroud Safety Sportsman Non-SFI Engine Diaper! Superior containment at an affordable price.

Stroud Safety's new Non-SFI Engine Diaper provides the Sportsman competitor with an economical and effective solution for oil and debris containment in the event of catastrophic engine failure. These diapers are constructed with the same ballistic nylon used on our SFI approved diapers. They also feature 4,000 pound strapping and the highest quality lugs and fitments unlike the inferior hardware found on other brands. Universal design will fit most engines. Cannot be converted to SFI 7.2 rated diaper. Order yours from us or your Stroud Safety dealer today for $109.99.

i just messaged them and they said they are available:

yes... call John at 405-632-2022 and he can get one sent to you

DRE here too. If you order one and it doesn't make it by Norwalk let me know and I will bring my spare with me and you can borrow it for the weekend. It's a custom fit for the Moroso 8 quart pan and is probably pretty easy to put on a tube chassis car. My car the engine has to be out to install it.

Thanks for the info Jim! I may be going that way if it will clear my oil pan. It is the deep Moroso 8 qt pan.
