Default going to Vegas what are must see's....

heading out in april with my wife and various family members so it will be pg13. I have never been. What are some of the things you loved and some of the things to avoid?
We are going to the Hoover Dam, shelby museum and counts customs, I think i want to try and hit The Drag Strip there. Maybe make a pass depending on their schedule

Some of the shows are great but pricey for a group. One of my favorites is Cirque d'Soleil "O". You will NOT be disappointed. Don't know if the still have it, but the Pirate ship sinking outside the Treasure Island is cool and used to be free. The roller coaster by New York, New York is a cool ride. The evening water fountain display outside the Bellagio is cool too.

Again, don't know if these are still around.........I need to go back and see what's current.

George

I lived there for a long time. The Shelby place didn't do too much for me. There are a couple other car museums inside casinos. Exotics and a few high end classic car builds.

I'm a big fan of the Pinball Museum for cheap entertainment and a stroll down memory lane. Also if you have kids with you its a lot of fun.

Not Gold and Silver Pawn unless you like T-shirts. Count's Kustoms has cool automotive eye candy though.

There's a classic car museum / dealer at the back of the Linq casino. I visit it every time I'm there.

I drove out to the gun range that's near the strip about 10 years ago. I wanted to shoot an Uzi, but they wanted $1 per round to shoot ANY gun. (That $1 / round will add up fast in an automatic.) I turned around and walked out. Those were 10 years ago prices, too.

My Daughter went to Vegas and went to the famous pawn shop, she said the line was around the building and down the parking lot to try and get in. She left.

She made a good move. She would have been very disappointed unless she wanted a T-shirt.

Not sure if it is still there but just outside of town to the east there was a shooting range where you could shoot pretty much anything you desire,,full auto, .50 cal BMG, Tommy gun, etc...Lots of fun if you enjoy the shooting sports.

I've been every year for the last 20+ for a trade show. For me, work all day until 6 and then give me a couple of Jack and Coke's and then feed me a good meal. Done. If I never went to Las Vegas again I'd be way ahead.
Go see Fremont Street and eat at the steakhouse at Binion's while you're there.
You'll be amazed and have a good time, especially since you've never been.

I highly recommend the Neon Museum.
Very cool place with the old Las Vegas neon being saved.

Plenty to see at the Olympic gardens ("The OG")! Not exactly PG13 though....

Death Valley, Valley of Fire, Red Rocks, ect. Natural geological formations. Pretty neat and cool (or very hot) . I enjoyed that stuff more than the city itself which seem more of a cash grab than anything else. Some of the casinos are neat to walk through. Food was eh on the strip . Didn't go to any 60+/ head places however. Panruhp has a neat road course. Gamblingwise, just set your limit. On a $5 bet, I walked out with $20. I was happy.

Must see is the Mob museum in downtown Vegas!1 Plan to spend a few hours there! Also a one day trip to Death Valley! Beautiful Ride! Ellis Island Brewery for a Steak dinner! Not on menu! Draft Beers are very reasonable and are brewed on site.Pick up Fodors guide to Vegas! It should be at your library!

Went there with a friends recommendation. Did not disappoint
Vegas is a must see at least one time for sure. Its been quite a few years since we have been and I wouldn't mind heading back in the near future. I think theres a lot for everyone to do. I dont really gamble and still had a good time. We saw Elton John and Penn and Teller. Those shows weren't exactly cheap but def. worth it.

Depending on cost two options are exotic racing and trophy trucks.

Exotics run about $300 per car for 7 laps. You get to drive a dream car on a road course. It’s well worth the $$. I would do two as you really get the feel of the track around lap 5-6.

I’ve done the Vegas Off Road Experience (VORE) and it is amazing. 4+ hours of racing 90+ in the desert getting airborne.

I also highly suggest the pool parties but not pg13 and very pricey

I go to vegas infrequently. Maybe 4 times in the last 30 years. But I was there last year on a Saturday night and the place was a zoo (and not a holiday weekend). Took me an hour to exit the 15 freeway and move a 1/4 mile to the strip. Once on the strip I moved two car lengths for every light cycle. And of course we missed our show. So try to time your visit during the week and not on a holiday weekend when most of SoCal is there.
The only way to move around on the strip is to walk and its interesting indeed. Was somewhat startled when an endowed young lady wearing pastys and a thong bikini bottom approached me to hand me a strip club brochure. Wife didn't blink an eye. I did LOL.
Hang around the Bellagio Fountains for a great outdoors show particularly at night. At the north end of the strip I think there's a roller coaster that goes around a building about 20 or 30 stories up.
April is a good time to visit Death Valley. Temperatures are comfortable at that time.

I was just in Vegas two weeks ago and had to stick around the strip for business. Bring your wallet.....

First day
Dinner for 8 at Gallagher's Steakhouse - $1400

Second day
Lunch for three at Margaritaville - $120
Dinner for two at Guy Fieri's - $90
Whiskey bar three drinks- $80 WTF lol

Third day
Breakfast at LeVillage Buffet for two - $50
Dinner at Hugo's Cellar for four - $450

Vegas feels run down/dirty now and not worth the spend anymore. I suggest spending time at the casinos outside of town away from the strip. Our highlight was catching the Mecum vintage motorcycle auction one day at the South Point Casino.
