Default Old Ultradyne Cam Info

Hey guys,
I stumbled across this old Ultradyne camshaft that is in usable shape. I have found a number stamped on the back.
The number is 37947. I assume this is the part number. Do you all have any idea what the specs are for this camshaft?

I have also posted in the race section.

I have several Ultradyne catalogs. The number you posted is not enough. Typically Ultradyne cams would hand engrave lots of important information either on the front of the cam #1 bearing journal as you face it. or across the back of the #5 bearing journal. Typically it would say UD for Ultradyne, then the duration, then the LSA would also be listed. Sometimes they would list the lift, but generally not. As I said, I have a master catalog of everything they made up to the time of Harold Brookshire's death. Be happy to look up with more info.

thanks steve, what I have must be a custom grind with the 274/282 adv. dur because it isn't listed on the master list nor the old UltraDyne list
I couldn't find anything for the # 370.571 or the #37947 so I may not use this came not knowing the specs. Thank you for the information you sent. Joe

I suppose someone could get that cam, and with a Degree wheel and dial indicator, then you would have the all the spec.

274, 284 and the 282 are there. H10, H18 and H25.

Subtract base circle OD from base/lobe measurement to see if lift matches up.

Like Ted said to get lobe sep and verify what's what.

Just an assumption based on what everyone posted but to me the camshaft looks like a "optimized" Harold B RA-IV Hydraulic Camshaft.

In the link I posted above within the Pontiac section....

"Need a replacement for your worn-out RamAir IV cam? This one makes more power. Can use 1.65s for .515 valve lift."

The 288/296 has 231/239 @ 0.050 like the RAIV and performs pretty darned good also.

Regarding a "RAIV" substitute with the two UltraDyne hyd flat tappet cams mentioned here and noted below should bring out some interesting comments and emotions

282/290 114 LSA .468/.468 233/241

288/296 110 LSA . 485/.507 231/239

Did you ever uses this cam before?

Do you know if it is hydraulic or solid lifter?

Flat tappet or roller?

If the 274/284 is duration then is it seat-to-seat or 0.050"

Stan it is a hydraulic cam. a friend ran it in a 69 400 4 speed gto. I was thinking it may also be a good cam to use in my 70 gto 455 with casting number 96 d port heads with
headers, modified turbo 350 transmission and 355 rear end. It should be pump gas engine.
