Default Bet this thing would be fun to get to idle....

But with the right cam, it sure could make the engine zing at the higher RPMs.

The carb linkage would be fun to design and build.

That seems cheap.

I also helped a guy install the Pieces on a Chebby Small Block.
We wound up using a dual cable arrangement that had two connections to his dash linkage.
Not that hard really with throttle cables.

The guy ran two of the smallest Carter carbs. If I remember right they were 400??? Maybe 500 cfm each?
cfm Federal Mogal carbs. We bought the adaptors from a speed shop down the street from Al Gonzales place.
Think it was Mayfair Auto Parts. A guy named Jim ran the place.

Those "cross-ram adapters" are a hot, steaming pile.

They're little beyond additional plenum volume, but shaped to promote fuel puddling. I bet they'd be dyno-proven to reduce power at all RPMs, (if anyone bothered to test 'em) with the bonus of horrible drivability.

Looks like they were trying to copy what Chrysler has already done in the early 60's with their long ram stuff that worked quite well, and chevy had success with cross rams on the first gen Z's with the 302 racing program.

But a cross ram that appears like a second thought??

I haven't seen one of those adapter deals up close to say whether it would be a mess or not, but I'd rather start with an intake designed as a cross ram right off the bat rather than cobble something together like that. Interesting conversation piece though, lol.

One of my buddies did a cross ram on a 428CJ Fairlane, back in late 80’s.
Never did get it to run clean or quick , but it “looked” like it bolted on 300 extra hp!

Agree!
The one I did was mostly for show....don't get me wrong it went good but I'm sure a single carb would have been better.
