Default Delaware Memorial Bridge Closure

There was a toxic gas leak on Delaware side of the DMB yesterday. The highly toxic and flammable gas ethylene oxide escaped from a storage tank near the bridge in New Castle.

More here.... http://www.msn.com/en-us/news/us/del...ge=BBQ6gTn_1|1

I'm glad I was home and didn't have to travel north or south across the DMB. It's bad enough as it is on the so called "normal" days.

I-95 is a hot mess and it needs help up and down the coast.

Ever driven through SC? It's 2 lanes most of the way and the slow lane isn't safe with tons of pot holes, patches, and bumps. Lots of trucks and heavier vehicles stay in the fast lane. Oh, and the trees are FINALLY starting to be cleared from the median and shoulders! Nothing like trees hanging over the interstate when you're going 70.

I remember a number of years ago in VA they replaced the old Woodrow Wilson bridge across the Potomac. The old bridge was a draw bridge...yeah, on I-95! The new bridge was going to be higher to avoid having a draw bridge, but residents up-river complained and, you guessed it, they built another draw bridge! Genius.

I slid across the metal grates of the old Wilson bridge when my motorcycle hit ice NOT a fun experience.

Those metal grates are treacherous! Glad you made it. Reminds of the Bay Bridge...even in a car it can be a white knuckle experience.
