Default Door lock cylinder installation

Hi guys. I think I'm within a couple days work of finishing my 67 Firebird build, but now the door lock cylinders are giving me fits. The lock cylinders are aftermarket. It was a kit from PY that did the glovebox, doors and trunk.

Anyway, I have the correct LH and RH pawls on the cylinders. It seems that the lock lever in the door requires less than 90 degrees rotation of the key. It also seems like there's way too much throw in the cylinder/pawl to possibly start with the key in the vertical position, turn 90 degrees one direction or the other and then back to vertical. Finally, if the cylinder is locked in one of the 90-degree orientations, I don't think that you could even lock/unlock the door from inside the car. Is this as simple as my pawl not installed right? Are the lock cylinders not doing something right? Thanks for any help.

Dave

Never mind. Figured it out. Provided pawl clips weren't letting the pawl rotate freely in the "neutral" region.
