Default 1968 firebird hubcap center cap color

Looking for the correct hubcaps for my 68 firebird sprint - they are the Deluxe Wheel discs. What is the correct color of the center cap - Red or Black? I am seeing both listed as 68. any help would be greatly appreciated

Red letters within black circle. Just like the Rally II caps.

Yes. They also came with (nicer in my opinion) wire covers:
I think there were four or five hubcap options for '68.

that style cap was used for many years... I would guess to about 1972 or so.
I believe I have seen those hubcaps with arrowhead centres...

If I understand correctly the centres are not reproduced - they are a larger OD than the centre caps;
I have a small hubcap collection, along with some extra hubcap centres...

My gut was to say (and it looks like from the posted pictures my gut waws correct - that the centre style changed before the ralley II centrecap style - to the forthcoming one...

Ralley II's: red PMD on black background 1967-1970.5; black PMD on red background 1970.5-1972

While I am unsure which style hupcap used precisely which colour combination centre, I am confident that the red backround centre was used well in advance to the 1970.5 Ralley II cap changeover...

Default CENTER LUCITE MEDALLION...

Looking at these center medallions they look very close to several used on/in 1967' wheel disc as well as the Black with Red PMD center caps on the rally rims.
Anyone ever dissect some of these to see if they are the same?
I'd be inclined to see if the ones our host offers could be used in these hubcaps.

this is to illustrate the difference in size between the hubcap medallions and the ralley II medallions;
the bottom two are Ralley II medallions;
the centre two are the most common size hubcap medallion (from what I have observed);
the top one is another larger sized hubcap medallion.

(not sure why the picture rotated... but what ever.

I actually have more than a set's worth of that style hubcap in my garage...

My 68 deluxe wheel discs were red with black PMD lettering.
