Default Anyone heard of a RA V installed in a 70 Judge Convert??

I just heard today about a 70 Judge 'vert supposedly with a RA V installed years ago out of South Florida. It is an Orbit Orange car that needs restoring. Anyone have any info on this car? I'm supposed to go and look at it in the next few days. I don't know where the person was BS'ing me or not but they seemed to know what they were talking about. Worst thing about it is that it has been right under my nose for several years. We'll see.

It's not nice to tease Jerry.

Check on whether it has Cast Iron exhaust manifolds or Headers .

The manifolds are worth more than the engine.

Heard of a couple RA IV OO Judge verts and seen them. Both doing serious trailer time or on display...

See Mile Nouns thread for pix..

Engines seemed to be 10-15k range ?
Maybe not 100% top to bottom - front to back - blue bloods.

Last set of GTO manifolds were figured at 18k sale.
That was Greg's take on the deal when dust settled.

BigDogBucks for sure
Check for those Manifolds !

Carb,4K,dizzy,2-3K,factory balancer,2K or more.Intake 3K,heads about 10K depending on condition.Block,a lot,V crank 1500-2000,rods nothing IMO.I have NO confirmation of a set of GTO-2nd gen exhaust selling since I have been doing the V stuff.I sold a set of first gen for 12,RARE has a set of 1st gen not forsale. There is a set of first gens about 40 miles from me that I have not been able to get.Lance has a miss matched set as I remember,a first gen and a 2nd gen.My 366 engine is forsale for 30K with a 455SD dizzy. It is the ONLY 366 NASCAR engine I know in one piece anywhere. It comes with first gen headers and a Xtra McCarty 4bbl intake.Tom

They sold with a Ram5 engine package.
around 2010 ?
Richard Sargent went and brought them home in a suitcase - separate from the engine.
Richard bought the engine mainly to score the manifolds.

Greg tallied them at being 18k of the overall deal.
But i know he doesn't ever figure or pay full blown retail on other various V pieces.

The only set of GTO known to change hands in a looonnnnggg time.

Don't know the engine specs on this possible car in FL.
But thats the only specs ever given on the GTO Manifolds.

2 or maybe 3 sets known ?

You can just catch a glance of the corner of one of his clear valve covers.
Its Richards stuff , and is-or-was in his firm possession at that time.
And he took that picture of them.

Were they 303 variants or the Monster 400 variants ?

I know Gary's car had 303 Manifolds , if his is the one that sold.

the ones on the cooler were mine, they are short deck first gens. They were on my 69 T/A when I sold it to John Riconda.John had a 70 OO Judge with a V in it.Richard Yeary also bought that engine.Richard Sargent has my alu RA V block-engine.I think he also has another of mine.Richard Yeary in TX has 2 of my V engines,a short deck SCCA stroker engine along with my Xram intake-carbs and the required tall dist to go with it,and I think a 3 in main 4.21 stroke V crank engine.Greg Teeters had one of my V engines and flipped it.It might have been the 3in main 4in stroke crank V engine. Both rare factory cranks for the V program. The reason the 303s look that way is because the oil filter sticks out the side of the block like a 301 on the short deck blocks.FYI,George Delorian told me engineering NEVER made less than 6 of anything so there is a possibility of about 50 sets of V exhaust manifold out there.30 plus of the first gen short deck exhaust.Tom

Yep

But only 2 complete sets of GTO known for sure to still exist.
Richard Sargent/Glasgo set.
Purely PMD/current owner set.

Richard paid around 18k for his.

I doubt he would take 30k unless he gets hungry at some point. lol

The 303's have the highest survival count.
But ultra ultra rare enough to bring 12k at a saturday night dance with a bottle of Coke.

The reason for the 303s is because they made 25 complete engines with smog pumps and exhaust manifolds to get bye SCCA!Tom
