I like the car & price seems reasonable. I don't care for the skirts......my only dislike!

Price doesn't seem unreasonable, looks like it has some cool options including gauges, tach and vacuum, AC. But, doesn't have original trans and looks like a couple other details not necessarily correct (no plastic shroud for AC pipes at firewall ?) I would contact them and ask for copies of PHS and ask for picks of engine code from the block and head codes off of center exhaust port so you can see if it is a 356 or 376 horse car. This 65 4 speed coupe got up to 57K at Mecum two weeks ago and didn't sell

The repop interior is a turn off.

From here doesn't look like too bad of a car being a 'vert 2+2, 421 tripower with some nice options. Not a fan of skirts on a 2+2, but I like them on the GPs. Anyone notice the louvers on the skirts?? Some of the things missing or incorrect easily fixed but I agree on the interior. Change the coil, get correct air cleaners, find a POA cover, I have an extra. He moved the 421 console emblem to accommodate the gauge like I did.

I was at Volo in 2014....there was a very nice 421 '66 Bonneville for a fair price....about 25k. There was also a very nice '62 Impala red/red for about the same price. Both were good deals. But there were also several GTO's, Chevelles, etc. that were priced high and up close, didn't pass muster....very quick and sloppy 'flip' type restorations. Big body gaps, incorrectly installed seat covers (reversed on a '65 GTO like a lot are), etc. If buying from Volo, I strongly recommend you make the trip and look at the car in person before pulling the trigger on it.

Bought our 65 421 Tri-power GTO from Volo. Put your own eyes on it and drive it before you buy!

Price seems a little high ,given the non-stock components. Faux vents on skirts are from a 64 LeMans lower quarter, behind the b-post. Never seen a 2+2 with skirts, but the trim looks correct for 66 2+2.(Lower belt line trim is specific to 66 2+2 and some Superior Coachwork commercial aps) You would need to verify 421 correctness before the price would be even close.

I agree, but I wonder what your seeing that drew attention to the repop interior? To me it was the detail in the rear seats.

Any ideas on who make this interior? PUI?

Rear seat steam pressed inserts seem to have dimples and inconsistant depth. The rear speaker cove is not deep enough, but this could be installation prob. I noticed that the door panels were overly padded as compared to originals . One other item is the console textured areas should be black, but that's very minor and easily remedied.
All in all it seems to be a pretty nice example. I would would be mostly concerned about the 421 claims. The 700R4 wouldn't be a deal breaker.

Mike.

Default 2+2

If this car sold for anywhere near $38K I would consider it well bought. While it is not absolutely correct, most of the faults showing in the pictures are easily corrected (air cleaners, radiator cap, ditch the skirts, etc.).
Has a lot of desirable options, including gauge package. Had it been a 4-speed ca I would have bought it.
