I bought a set of '66 carbs this weekend. They're decent, except someone painted them black--bodies, linkage, bases.
Media blasting would remove the paint, but to minimize erosion of the pot metal, I'd like to chemically strip the paint. I've considered immersing them in brake fluid or lacquer thinner. Anyone have other ideas? Thanks.
