It was an issue with a set up with a burnout rev limiter that was coming on for .68 seconds while going down the track.

Billy came over and fixed it and there was a carb float issue and they are both squared away so we will see how it runs if it doesn't get rained out.
I will be there Friday only, he will be there Friday and Saturday.

Jack,
Best of luck. I can see the grid settings causing a problem. But not knowing the grid I don't understand how it would have caused each run to be slower or was that the result of the carb issue?

Billy,
If the changes you made to Jack's grid solves his problem. Then his car should be a bear. But having seen you run 157+ a week ago this past Saturday I believe he will still be chasing you.

Jack / Billy,
I am not sure that the weight that I heard at Capital is correct (3800 lbs). So what does the purple car weigh?

Looks like rain for Friday.

Anyone interested in a track rental at Capitol this fall?

i question the definition of 'canted' vs 'rotated'in this post...
this is a technical discussion which will bore most here, so please indulge me-

definition(s)-
rotated- difference of primary valve angles from intake to exhaust.. for instance- stock pontiac post '67 valve angles are both 14*. 'rotated' term refers to change of that # from 1 valve to the other. as example- if intake primary angle is 14*- like stock late pontiac, and exhaust is 10*, then rotation angle is 4*

canted- refers to the lay over angle which is perpendicular to the primary angle-
the action of valve opening into the bore creates separation from the cyl wall... more lift creates more separation. so canted angle of 5*, like cv-1 creates bore separation @.500" lift that makes 4.35" bore appear as 4.45' bore due to valve lift

when evaluating pics of valve layouts, these definitions will help the viewer to define movements.

Perhaps the pictures don't show it well enough, But the lay over angle is far different between the intake and exhaust. BUT no where near as much as Jacks or a BBC. They are goofy weird heads but I'm happy with them so far
