Default 71 Gp with sunroof?

Guy just offered me a 71 sj with 455 and sunroof. Is the slider roof the same as the hurst cars? This car has a column shift too. I thought they all had floor mounted shifters. He says it's all original.

I would go look at the car and if you're interested, get a PHS. Maybe it is an SSJ. If it's not an SSJ, it's hard to say what roof is in it. The SSJ sunroofs were different for each of the 3 years they made them. 71 should have a large roof hole.

Yeah, without PHS or some sort of documentation, it's difficult to know the story on that GP. Adding aftermarket sunroofs was fairly common, and after 47 years, who knows?
Bench seats were available on GPs for 1971.
Any pictures?

I have not seen it. My buddy looked briefly the other day and described it on the phone. He did say it had a vinyl top, though it may have been painted at some point. Black with white interior. Try to get some more info tomorrow.

I have had several 71 GP's with Bench Seat. They have glove box in dash which looks funny at first. I sold a dash and other parts off a 71 SJ to a guy fixing up a 71 GP SSJ.

Go check it out, you don't ever know what it could be.

Since the car is not local to me I had my buddy offer 1200. Is that in the money? Too little or too much?

did you get pic of headliner around sunroof and switch ?

If you can get it for what you offered, looks like a good deal. Original engine? Trim Tag info.?

-Not enough clues from those pictures to say it's an SSJ.
-Sunroof looks professionally installed like WISCO would have done.
-I'd like to see if it has the 4 drain hoses, and of course a 50-012 ship code on the PHS would be very informative.
-Shifter should be on the floor (or former signs of one) for a bench seat SSJ.
-Grand Prix trunk emblem, if original, says it's not an SSJ.
