Default Was there a lime green for '77/78?

There is a '77 or '78 TA that I've seen around a few times locally. I just passed him about a mile from my house tonight, while I was driving my Sundance Yellow '79. It looks stock with Rally wheels and all stock TA decals... but it is a lime green. Looks like an early '70s color. It's the only one I've ever seen and google search doesn't come up with any either. Did they make one or is it just something that suited someones taste?

Yes, I saw that on the color chart, but I can't find a single picture of a Lime '77 Trans Am. Anyone know if was available on the Firebird?

Definitely NOT Seafoam.
This '76 is the closest that I've seen. Maybe not quite this bright.

That could be.

Here's what I have for paint for Firebird:

1977 Color
11 Cameo White *
13 Sterling Silver *
19 Starlight Black *
22 Glacier Blue *
29 Nautilus Blue *
36 Firethorne Red *
38 Aquamarine *
44 Bahia Green *
51 Goldenrod Yellow *
61 Mojavi Tan *
63 Buckskin Metallic *
69 Brentwood Brown *
75 Buccaneer Red *
78 Mandarin Orange *

But possibly one could special order that color?

Or just had it painted that color because they liked it.

In the 90's I had a customer at the shop with a '77 Lemans that was Royal Lime w/a Parchment interior. He was in his 70's at that time & loved that car. I'm pretty sure he bought the car new & it was the only one I had ever seen in that color. Reminds me a lot of the '71 Tropical Lime color.

This page has Firebird specific color chart. Greens were limited to one shade after 1976.

ok people this is information and chat not an Insulting contest keep it personal and off the boards.

I have seen some interesting colors over the years and it is not uncommon for someone to order a special color on any car.

to answer the original question, no, you could not get a '77 or '78 Trans Am from the factory in lime green (or any shade of green for that matter)
