"...Alum hyp pistons..."
Looks to have TRW L2339 forged pistons. That's a good thing. So, are you saying that all this engine needs is a cam/lifters and head work ? Or is it just a core engine for a rebuild or refresh ? There's a Chino, CA guy lookin for a crate engine or just a block. I'll give him a link to this thread. If he's interested, I'll pass on the info or help him contact you. He's restoring a '74 Bird. But I assume the motor mount adapters will work for the '69 block. |

Ponyakr,
Sorry missed your response til now. YES, these are TRW forged pistons, not alum hyp as previously mentioned. My mistake. The motor needs a new piston and rod in cylinder 7, as well as cam /lifters + head work. She'll run with no head work, but cylinders 1 and 7 have leaky valves (i believe exhaust). I have an extra piston laying around that can be re-used to rebuild cyl 7, I can throw that in. So just need a new rod. Motor mounts should match right up, since they used Pontiac blocks on 74 Birds and their location didnt change i believe.
