Default Rear tire fitment

What's the biggest rear wheel and tire combo you can fit underneath a 65 Tempest with a frame pinch and minor work to the wheel housings

I got a 29-15x11 on a 10" wheel to work. It required "flattening" the frame, cutting the fender lip, and cutting out some of the inner fender panel. Different manufacturers have slightly different sizes. The Hoosier was a little wider than the Goodyear. I'll look for some pictures tomorrow.

I had a 15x8 with 4.5" BS with a 275-60 drag radial on mine with no cutting or trimming.

That's what I have on mine. Still enough clearance for street driving also.

I also have a 69 12 bolt,8 inch wheel 5.5 backspace, and 275/60 Mt drag radials. Barely... You'll find out if your housing/frame/body is centered for sure...

I have that bar on mine. Roughly speaking, the frame rails will interfere before the bar will, but not by a lot...

A 10.5W will not fit unless you do a full tub. Mine is mini-tubbed and clearanced inside. A friend thought his 10.5W would fit, so he brought it over. It would not even go under the car. It hit on both sides.
