Default Rocker panel moldings

Hi everyone. I checked in my assembly manual for how to attach the rocker panel moldings to the rocker panel clips, on my '71 GTO. I didn't find anything. The moldings seemed loose and when I looked underneath, the bottom was only attached to 2-3 of the clips. All of the clips are there. I took them off and they cleaned up very nicely. I'm going to put these back on tomorrow, but I'm unsure if you should hook the top and snap in the bottom, or vice-versa. Looks like it could go either way. I'm really not sure. Any suggestions would be very helpful. Thank you, Carmine.

Default Hi

first clip the lower brackets into the trim 2 ea side

hang the trim on the car.. over the clips mounted.. sometimes
you need to tap the tops in a tad to snug the fit up against the body

center it and look for the phillips screw holes for alignment

bolt the lowers to the rocker 5/16 headed screws

put the phillips screws in the ends

that should getcha close

Thanks Scott. I don't believe I understand your instructions or I have something different. I have 5 clips/brackets already attached with a Phillips head screw to the rocker. They look pretty much original and are attached where they should be. They are rectangular and attached vertically. The top and bottom stick out some. I'm thinking this is for the molding to slide over/behind somehow. My question is should I put the molding on the top of the bracket first and then try to attach it to the bottom of the bracket, or do it opposite. Thanks, Carmine.

That's correct. I am missing the long ones in the top of the pic. I do have the bottom ones. Guess I have to order a complete new set. Always something. Thank you, Carmine.
