Default 1972 Pontiac LeMans Sport Convertible For sale. VIN: 2D67M2P103XXX

After many years of procrastinating, I took stock of my uncompleted projects after hitting the BIG SEVEN OH, and this one will not be done by me. I have done considerable work on her, and I cranked her this morning and drove around the neighborhood, but she needs work to be truly road worthy. I have decided to sell her.I should probably entitle this the Good, the Bad, and the Ugly, but I’ll let ya’ll decide which is which.First of all, I am located in Spicewood Texas. It is in central Texas just west of Austin.I am asking $8,000.00 as is.I have additional parts that can be purchased also, but I will list them in the parts for sale after I make a deal on the car w/additions as requested by the buyer.

I acquired and titled the car in 2006. I don’t have a full history of it, but I seem to be the third (on paper), but most likely the fourth owner. It was never titled by the person who sold it to me.The PHS, and Cowl tag are included in the Pics I am posting. It is an original Lucerne (Lucy) Blue with Ivory interior, and white convertible top, and chrome front bumper. It was a simple 350 2 bbl, backed by a TH350. All indications are that the engine is original, not sure about the TH350.When I got it, it had a Q-Jet and dual exhausts since someone was going to make a “hot rod’ out of it.I needed another motor for another project and I found a ’71 Pontiac 350 so I could scavenge the 2bbl carb and intake manifold. That’s what it is wearing now.

I am going to do my best not to mis-represent anything about it, because I may not know everything. The ”GOOD” thing I know is that this would be a very beautiful car when restored.I would love to own it, but it could probably also be “flipped’ for a good chunk of change. I also don’t expect to get everything out of it that I put into it.I just want to give a good home, and the true Pontiac guys on this forum deserve to have the first shot without some scam bidding on “E-Rape”. Also, I don’t want to turn this into a bidding war … that‘s not what this forum is about.Having said that, I am listing my asking price OBO … if someone wants to offer me more than my asking price, I am going to take the best offer I can get, but I’m not gonna jack folks around. I can be PM’ed or e-mailed at the address in my profile.

Here’s the first set of pictures. I’ll try to answer any questions to the best of my abilities.

Next set showing some of the BAD. She was hit from the rear at some period before I got her. The right (pass side) rear quarter show some of the damage and LOTS OF BONDO from one of the POs. The inner wheel well looks to be in good shape, and a little rust at the rear outer wheel well. I can get more pics if needed.

The doors, and fenders are in great shape. Since I removed the front end to take the motor out to get the heads done, I took the fenders down to bare metal and then put a coat of rattle can primer on them.

I'll add more pics and comments a little later. Other projects are calling right now.

Default 3 day Bump to the top (BTTT)

I’m not sure what to post next. I have a couple of hundred pictures of previous work done, and current condition of the car. As I stated before, I have several “additional” parts that are available. For those of you who know more than I ever will about Pontiacs, please forgive my misuse of terminology on some parts.

The motor was not running well when I got her, so I pulled the front end off, and pulled the engine to have the heads professionally worked. (pics below)

It has been so long since I worked on her, I can’t remember all that was done. I know that the alternator is new (members here taught me how to “clock” it), and I think the starter is too. Many parts were changed simply because I thought they were old, and might fail. (sorry my record keeping isn’t very good). The under hood electrical harness is new.

More of the GOOD: The top motor(s?), actuator(s?), and mechanism are totally functional. A little grease or oil would be good, but they will raise and lower the top without any problems. The Boot (top cover) is gorgeous, but the top is torn where most are, and need to be replaced.

The interior has seen better days. All of it is there except the front door panels. They are covered with an extra set (brown) from my other “project.” The driver’s seat is torn along the thread stitching, but other than the glue on the seat backs where a PO installed the chrome piping, the interior is actually pretty good.(Couple of pics)

More to come as requested,
Ogre

Default Just a few more pics

EXTRAS:
Have you ever seen an unmolested dash radio opening? This one has never been cut … not the plastic dash or the metal backing.

Rather have a T41 front (part 481298) than the chrome nose (part 487081). I have an extra T41 I am willing to add to the package if the offer is good enough. The front end bar (medal) on her now is from my other project, and it goes with the vert, but I also have the original plastic nose that goes too.

Hope Bart doesn't mind if I use two posts to get a few more pics for y'all. lol

Not trying to nit pick, but that dash has indeed been cut! Here's a picture of a uncut dash and even this one has had the radio holes drilled out! Dash insert look's nice and look's like a great project for the money, wish I had room for it? Good luck with the sale.

You're absolutely right Lyn. Sorry ... didn't mean to mislead. I've got my Vert and 2dr parts mixed up, so I grabbed the wrong one.

Here's the unmolested, but the dash pad is in a lot worse shape. Parts are ALL negotiable.

Hi Tim,

It's still available. I've been trying to do some work on it to get it in better shape before it goes to Craigslist or E-Bay, but it's still in my garage (and occasionally driving around the neighborhood).

Send me a PM or send to my e-mail listed in my profile, and I'll be glad to answer any questions you might have.

BTW, since this is already bumped up, I stated above that all indications are that the engine is original. I finally found the picture I took of the VIN # on the block, so it is definitely confirmed to be the original engine.
