Default CAD or drawings for Pontiac logos

Does anyone have any technical drawings for any of the old Pontiac logos?

Specifically I am looking for something on the Indian Head logo from the 30s.

I want to get my dad some billet valve covers for his 39 and then get them machined on a cnc with the Pontiac script and the Indian head from the emblems on his car.

Thanks

Tin Indian Performance may have the v/c's that will work for you, if not maybe they can make some custom ones for you?

http://www.brandsoftheworld.com/logo...-silver-streak

and I converted it to DXF

I also did the Firebird logo

I can email them if anybody needs/wants them

So I finally got it how I want and I am going to send it out for quotes to the local machine shops I use at work and see how much it is gonna cost me.

I think its gonna be MUCH cooler than this:

Im thinking for his birthday get a custom air cleaner cover to get rid of the cheesy flames and have it engraved with this

That looks nice. I work in machine shop and have been thinking about doing something similar but it wasn't going to be for my car just yet since I don't have the valve covers. I'd just machine\engrave a Pontiac logo of some type and then set it down into a table top for a coffee table. Might use steel and have it powder coated or just use brass.

I love that last photo from Captainofiron.

Edited:
Just got my head out of my a**.... Chrome can't be engraved as it will rust where it's engraved. Unless, you want to spend the money to have them rechromed.

Dont worry man, its monday.

haha

and thanks.

Im pretty happy with the proportions and how it turned out. I talked to the machine shop manager where I worked to get an idea of how much it would be to machine them and he said for them to program the cnc and machine time would be couple hundred.

So we will see. Not bad for a custom fathers day present for a car.

If you provide them with the .dxf of just your graphics, it shouldn't be that much as all the programming work is done. Any cnc tree mill should be able to import a .dxf without any difficulty.

Just make sure that anywhere you have an inside corner that the radius isn't too small. I would think a 1/16" r. should work, that way they can buzz it with a 1/8" end mill.

Once they get i all set up, it shouldn't take more than 30-45 mins or so to run per cover. Most mach shops usually charge about 80-120 per hour, depending on location of course. There shouldn't be much set up time either. All they'll need is a starting point and a depth once it's clamped in place.

Yea, Im talking about tool path programming based on the STP file and DXF I created.

As for the end mill size, the drawing itself is optimized for a 1/32" endmill to get the details, with the shops I normally use this shouldnt be a problem, you should see some of the tiny stuff I have given them before, we are talking .010 details that they made without EDM
BUT that was playing with company money not mine, so we will see what they tell me, I might have to scrub the indian logo

The Indian logo is what brings it all together and sells it.

The best thing, it cost me lunch!

Sorry but the Pontiac Indian head logo with flaming "hair" looks more like Ron Jenkins owner of Magnum Force Racing Fabrication of MOPAR fame.
