Default where does this part fit?

This part came off my old 326 and i don't recall where it was on the engine or what it does?
seems like it is related to the oil filter housing/sending unit.

thanks jeff, i thought it had same bolt pattern as filter base, forgot about the heat riser, have had repro headers for some time.
i have another part that for the life of me i can't figure out where it mounted. it is a piece of sheetmetal that mounted around the frame/wheel well area. i will look for the piece and then post a pick,it was removed when the 400 went in.
