I am Looking for a Turn Signal Switch for my 1963 Grand Prix.
It has the standard non tilt steering column .
Is it still available ?
I searched this site & Google Search turned up Zero Results.

What other Years interchange?

62, 63 and 64 are probably the same, but with 64 having a lot of one-year parts on it, maybe only 62-63.

No I haven't called Ames yet.

I also Google Image Searched.
I believe the Turn Signal Switch in my '63 G.P. is Remote Cable actuated.
I haven't looked in.my 1963 Pontiac Service Manual yet but I will tonight .

It appears 1964 Pontiac Full Size went to the more conventional Below the steering wheel Breaker cam style used well into the 1980's.

The Early Corvettes used a Remote cable actuated turn signal switch also.
In my search tonight .

If your switch isn't physically broken you can carefully take it apart and clean it and often times it will work. Be careful not to lose the little springs inside.

I beleive all GM 61-63 turn signal switch that use a bodle cable would be the same. I have a 61. Can you post a pic of the part you need?

Yes. 1961-64 P/8 are the same directional turn signal switches.
It is shown in my 1963 Pontiac Service Manual.

I looked it up also in a GM Dealership Vintage Parts Catalog I have.
Covers 1955-75 Pontiacs.
Print date of February 1982.

I may have found it.

1st time since 2005.
My Suburban popped a head gasket.
Turn signal working intermittent .
Have to Jiggle the Turn signal lever.

Sure Rides nice compared to todays crappy cars.

Its a Long slender rod that actuates the Turn signal switch in my 1963 G.P.

Cable Remote setup is for Tilt Column cars only.

In the 7 months or so I have owned my 62, I have found 3 electrical items that are tough to find and are not reproduced. The turn signal switch is one, the 2 speed wiper switch, and the headlight switch are all used up to 64 or so. None are being reproduced that I know of. As posted above, I very carefully took my turn signal switch apart and cleaned the contacts, lubricated it and put it back together. They are a little delicate and the bend tabs need special care to not break off.

The 1966 and 1972 parts books list the non tilt switch as group # 2.895 with a part # 1993531.
Fits 1961-64 non tilt column full size Pontiac.

I think you're looking for the one on the left. That was my old one, which was cracked. I bought the one on the right which was for a different application BUT only because of the attaching bracket. Found it on the ePay by looking at photos. I very carefully swapped the switch part to my bracket. There are a few on there now, quite pricey at $165+

i agree with you completly. i did it to my 63GP. like you said watch those springs. problem solved

There may be small ball bearings in there too.

just reinstalled mine today after removing, cleaning and lubricating with dialectic grease. works fine now. symptom - no left or right and manually had to move switch full left or right to get it to make contact. the metal backing is easily removed allowing you to clean and reassemble contacts/springs. now the switch makes contact at 1/2 the throw left/right which is all you're going to get with the clip at the end of the actuating rod. just be careful removing the switch. I wasn't ready to grab the spring behind the clip and it made a trip to the bottom of my steering column. had to remove complete wheel assembly and fish out with a magnet.

I posted a while back on cleaning up a faulty switch. Solved a ton of issues I thought were wiring related. It's very easy. You just need a screwdriver, some cleaner, grease and about 15 minutes time to git 'er done. Your turn signals should start working the way they were meant to once you finish.
