Default Factory overspray on gas tank strsps

I know there was a good assembly line photo of some hanging gas tank straps getting some over spray. Anybody have a link? I took pics on disassembly and they have gone missing

I thought that I had some better close-ups of the tank and straps on my old '72 Formula, John, but alas this is the best shot that I can find.

WAY too much undercoating and road grime to be of any help, I'm afraid.

From the SD. Hard to see but the white overspray seems to end midway in the center of the tank area.

A couple more. Mine doesn't have any overspray from the muffler area like the Sundance car has. The line painter must have had a bad backache that day.

Congrats! I have never seen that car. Cool find. Thanks guys for pics,i thought mine were painted towards the back also. I guess they must have had them hanging by the studs on the back. For the life of me,i don't understand why.

Default Tank strap Overspray

I got the yellow formy home and it still has yellow over spray about three quarters of the way from the back. They must have been hung on the body when it went thru the spray line. I have two pictures I could text you on my phone. If you pm me the number where you want them.

This is why.

When you are setting up an assembly line the work tends to congregate towards the end (everybody wants their operation to be "last").

It takes conscious effort to drive as much work upstream as possible so you end up with a lot of little "odd jobs" being done earlier in the process then what seems intuitive.

I understand,i could see if they slipped them on the other end first, but the way they did it,you would have to completely remove straps to get the tank in!
