Classic Tube fuel lines
Has anyone used Classic Tube fuel lines on a second gen TA? How was the fit? Did you use the OE routing on the right side or did you use the left hand routing? I have to run a 1/2" fuel supply along with a 3/8" return line and feel that to run them on the same side as OE (right side) would cause clearance issues. Makes better sense to rout the supply on the left side, same side has the fuel pump.

I did not use Classic Tube.
I had always read about Classic Tube and Inline Tube - these seem to be the big vendors for replacement lines. I figured when I needed lines I would use one of these vendors for my 78 Trans Am with Pontiac 400. I was leaning to Classic Tube a little...though it seems in general most users are happy with both vendors. I saw the Right Stuff lines on Summit Racing website and decided to give them a try. Price was good and I like Summit's return policy. On my 78 Trans Am I replaced the 3/8" main fuel line, all brakes lines, gas tank vent line and the fuel return line. I found all the Right Stuff lines fit decent...a few spots required a little massaging. Overall, I was pretty happy. I used all stock locations..main fuel line and brake line on driver's side and vent line and return line on passenger side. Myself , I dont think you would have too much clearance issues running a 1/2" fuel supply along with a 3/8" return line on the drivers side. There is a good amount of room...though you would likely need to do a little tweaking. I think all the vendors (Classic Tube, Inline Tube, Right Stuff) have good quality products. I would imagine the line patterns for 2nd gen f-bodies are pretty well documented. |
